Keep things as they are. If the manager is happy with his current terms then I'm cool with that.

But contract talks are about as daft as sacking a manager after only a dozen games...

Not when you only have a few months left on your current deal and you have proved yourself to be quality.

Did you not hear the big hint from Sabri in his post match interview?

Proved yourself? After a dozen games?
Don’t be daft - as crazy as sacking someone after the same timescale.
I’m all for keeping him - but I’m sure the big man knows what he’s doing - and it doesn’t include contract talks ( just yet ).

Yes I agree, let's not commit just yet. Come xmas we will have a much better judgement where we are at as a club. Dont want to keep making the same mistakes expecting different results.

Surely changing the manager again will be making the same mistakes not keeping a good one when we finally find one?

I'm not suggesting changing the manager, Sabri seems quite pragmatic about being here and what's expected. I also suspect that he is enjoying it and feels part of it.

I don't see there being any need to rush and I'm interested to see how he manages a rough patch.

It's not just about the actual games though TPL, there is a bigger picture to look at plus what he achieved with his previous club or doesn't that count?

So has he not improved things then? not proved that he can get the best out of his players? not proved his tactical awareness? Not proved he can work with Modesto and sign quality players? Not proved that he can get us top of the league?

What more do you want from the man? The fact of the matter is that he is becoming a wanted man and he has just a few months left on his contract. How can that be a good thing?

I heard that and wondered what he was on about. If he was dropping a hint in his media interviews that he wants an extension then IMO, the issue is beginning to resonate and will take away from what matters, which is the team getting results. Why does he need to be concerning himself, or ourselves, with such matters straight after a game?

Please please please Forest, do not allow a 'situation' to develop.

As I said Sniff, I rate him highly but maintain my stance that it is much too early. He asked for a 12 month contract & was given it - let’s see where we are at Christmas.
If he’s getting itchy feet already ( highly doubt it ) then I’m sorry but he’s not for us.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 07-10-2019

I am not convinced that he asked for just a 12 month contract because if he did then I am not sure that we would have employed him in the first place. Anyway whatever happened both sides must have agreed to it otherwise we wouldn't be having this debate now.

We need to be very careful here. Lets say for example Everton contact him and offer him a 4 year contract on double the money he is on now to manage in the PL. It's only natural that Sabri will be flattered and will sit up and take notice.

More importantly the uncertainty will filter through to the players and performances could be affected.

All about opinions - and it’s nice that we’re talking about contract extensions as opposed to being stuck with personnel beyond their sell by date.
I’m pretty sure though that he confirmed fairly early that an initial 12 months deal suited him for family reasons ( they have remained in France ).

Yes it does make a very pleasant change from debating when someone should be sacked  :)

No giving him an extension to his contract then having to pay another manager off is repeating the same mistakes. All I want is to see what hes like after xmas, let's see what hes like and how the team react after a bad spell. If he comes out the other side happy days if not cheap replacement.

Great, can't wait.
