Regarding the manager, he has gone on record as saying the one year deal suited him; he knew exactly what he was walking into.
It may not be quite as easy as offering him a new deal and him accepting without hesitation.
So far things have gone well for him; the only pressure he has been under is what he has put himself under.
He gets on well with the players and them with him.
He will face a bad run though, every manager does; be interesting to see what the reaction is when that does happen.
You would assume he will also want to strengthen in January; the support he gets then will speak volumes for how the land lies.
Whatever happens, we now have the structures in place to deal with managers coming and going.

Thats is interesting, as you say Taylor was underrated at the NEP and probably wasnt allowed to write most of the stuff he wanted to. To get the other Taylor, DT is another level, they must be paying a heck of a lot there to poach the Guardian’s chief football writer. Will seriously think about it, is it still a discounted rate?

Nice post and I think it more or less nails it. I think all sides are more than happy so far so I am sure it will get sorted.

Totally agree Sniffer.
The problem at the moment is one of perception; the support base will take time to come to terms with the fact that we are now run by hard nosed professionals.
Not everyone will think that the decisions made are in the best interests of the Club; not yet anyway.
The Fawaz days may have gone but they will still be fresh in some peoples memories, which is only natural.

Unsurprisingly, Lamouchi has been nominated as September Manager of the Month. Being (I think) the only manager who won all three of his matches in September he really should win it.

Nice words. Really is nice to hear. We hear this type of stuff all the time from players but seeing the players battle against Brentford, chasing down lost balls. Cash hoofing the ball into upper Clough with aggression like he did. I tend to believe it this time.
Long way to go but something feels different this season.

No ads, no click bait nonsense, no screen resizing or pointless articles. Hard to believe I bothered with rubbish like the NP for so long. The Athletic is like a Rolls compared to the rusted old scrap of the NP.
