Work to decommission Ratcliffe starts in September 24, that’s totally different to demolition. The decommissioning process will take a minimum 2 years before any work on that site can even start. Think there are eyes on the Freeport taking the site too.
Regardless its in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Leicestershire. No thanks.

There’s no hot water in the main stand.
The facilities are poor.
Ok let’s move stadium.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but some of the nonsense spouted on social media is ridiculous.
If it happens and we do move it will be for progress. Personally I don’t really want to move just for the current location. But the ground is a shambles and facilities are terrible.
I like the idea of an owner wanting more and wanting success. It’s taken 5 years not to build a new PT stand yet many consider building a whole new stadium on the current site is the best idea . It’s just not feasible and never will be. Too many hoops to jump through planning wise.
Nothings forever. What will the city ground look like in another 20 years if we do stay?
Since Iv been alive 3 of the 4 stands have changed, so it’s not the same ground I first went to. There’s no room to make them bigger. It will be a sad day, but surely we have to move to improve.

I don’t have to know anything to know that is a piece of fantasy artwork by someone not remotely connected to the club or the process. Its irrelevant nonsense and not what the club are looking to deliver even if they do stay. Pretty sure Benoy have their own architects.

I’m not saying I disagree with either of you, chaps; there was very little substance in the article but as someone who agrees that a 50k stadium is a necessary part of the club’s future, I think every idea should at least be considered fully if it might provide that 50k+ solution at the current site.

I suspect we have been offered a large site at Toton for not very much. Some are talking as if we are moving to the other side of the country. For plenty of our fans it will be closer than the city ground. If it is going to increase income streams to allow us to compete at the top end of the premier league then surely it is an offer we cannot turn down. The alternative is stay at the city ground. look how hard it has been to just get planning for 5,000 seats in the peter taylor stand. we can make the new stadium iconic and a history. nothing lasts forever.

The reality is we will never be able to make the CG what we really want it to be - a big enough stadium 40-50k with all the amenities on site to generate a lot of cash for 365 days.
It’s not just the current fans, it’s also about the legacy for supporters over the next 50 yrs.
I would want my young lad who loves Forest to have the opportunity to experience the success I have seen.
It’s not right to just make do with half baked improvements.
If moving helps sustain our chances of success, then it is the right thing to do for future generations.

Yet to inform those who currently can’t take a step back to see it, I would ask the club and council to show us what ‘the freehold’ on offer is so we/the club can all see together whether it’s feasible or not.
How big is the footprint on offer?
Is a sideways stadium BS or something the current chairman has swept under the carpet because of a possible conflict of interest?
Would the plot allow both a bigger stadium and the leisure facilities required?
A Forest hotel?
How many and how much profit from apartments and what slice would the council want?
Do the numbers add up?
Maybe Toton can be the training ground/conference venue nearer the motorway and CG the leisure complex?
I guess with the backdrop of tit for tat press statements from club and council, I’m asking for transparency so the fan base can all make a fully informed decision.
