When would the Clough average have been taken over McD? All of the other managers on the list managed when it was 3 points for a win, but for some of the time Cloughie was in charge, it was only 2 points, which would suggest that his name shouldn't ideally be on the same list, unless of course the averages have been taken since the 3 points for a win rule came in. Just a technical observation not a criticism

What were their average points per game in the Championship?

Clark and Bassett’s would be higher because they got us promoted. Clough’ s would have been 2 points for a win in the old 2nd division.

He was seething. Didn't he actually call the players stupid or did I mishear that?

I heard it. He did call the players stupid.

Be interesting to see what sort of reaction we get from them on Saturday.

A bloody good one I hope.
Let's face it, out of all the games since Christmas that looked the most winnable that had to be up there. For the side to have got their nose ahead and then conspire to throw it away is stupid.
They had done so well to make up the gap they thought the hard work was done.

I expect the Leeds game to be huge. Neither side can recall afford to lose and both will be looking for a big reaction

I think Sabri probably wanted to use the word naive but he couldn't dig it out so he ended up using the word stupid instead. It was probably a language barrier problem.

They were stupid.

They were but it wasn't the best choice of words from Lamouchi. I can't imagine an English manager to use the word stupid to describe his players. I agree with Sniffer the word naive would have been better and that's probably what Lamouchi meant.

His interview summed up the feelings of many a fan.  Sheer frustration to 'toss it away' against a side bereft of confidence.  Confidence growing following a fine win and a good run, ...just a penalty and a chance to 'bury' Birmingham nonchalantly thrown away. But Forest miss the penalty and implode.

The Coach been very patient and measured for the most part.  But given the casual ineptitude of the Birmingham game following the 'performance of the season' vs Brentford, you can understand the anger, the agony of being so close to the autos.  To go from mature contenders to naive incompetence.  'Kick the cat' football madness. Another 'real chance' blow...again.

So close. Yet so far.

The game vs Leeds will tell us more.

Without Sow, we're not winning that game.

SA.

'Hey...Grabs(!)...for missing the target from there...you want BLOODY SHOOTING!!!'  (Paraphrase.)  Brian Clough.

Maybe that would be better than 'stupid.'  STUPID doesn't quite cut it?

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Salvatore Matrecano - 07-02-2020

Uh-oh, Sabri has been named Manager of the month for January.

We all know what happens to our form now....

Congratulations to Sabri and his staff.

Now where is that new contract?
