Went to that game and still don't know how Chett scored that from the angle he was at.

I remember swapping scarves with an Ajax fan after the match and I had that Ajax scarf on my bedroom wall for years afterwards.

Fantastic night, they threw absolutely everything at us but Shilton was immense!

He was absolutely brilliant, he was beaten once but there was no way he was going to be beaten twice.
Fantastic atmosphere too, it was played in the Olympic Stadium if I remember well, Ajax home stadium in those days.

38 years ago to the day. 28th May 1980. Nottingham Forest 1 - 0 Hamburg.
Heroes!

First time I ever cried at a football match, not because we won the cup (again) but from the tear gas used by the Madrid Police for no reason at all.

Remember it well Duncan. They were patrolling the perimeter of the pitch during the game - tossing the canisters from hand to hand - just waiting to release them after the game.

40 years ago tomorrow. Kenny Burns still looking for Keegan in his pocket.

On this day 40 years ago I was in Madrid. It feels just the same today. Just as amazing, just as incredible, just as remarkable.
There’s been nothing like it since and there won't be anything like it ever again. Nottingham Forest Champions of Europe 28th May 1980.

Four of our European Cup winning heroes.

John Robertson, Tony Woodcock, Viv Anderson and Garry Birtles.

Sadly I have heard that Robbo is not very well.

Yes, can't say the same for the other 3!

Robbo has a lager, Viv a bottle of ale and Birtles…..a bottle of chilled expensive looking wine! Whats that all about!
