RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Tricky - 16-04-2023 In some respects, I have some sympathy for EM. He is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. IF he were to sack Steve over the next few days (Man Utd performance dependent), and his predecessor fails big time, he will have the wrath of a large majority of fans on his back and will lose an enormous amount of popularity. If he decides to stick with Steve and we stay up, happy days, although I do think he would demand changes behind the scenes with coaching staff etc. If he decides to stick with Steve to the end of the season, we get relegated, then pulls the trigger, he will be lambasted for getting rid of possibly the best Championship manager who would stand us a much better chance of going back up straight away, especially if his replacement dies on his arse! If he decides to hang on to Steve, knowing he is probably the best hope of getting an instant promotion next season, there will be those demanding to know why he has stood by a premier league failure. Having said that though, I do believe the majority of Forest fans would welcome the final option as the best possible outcome, should we go down! Just my opinion RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - wassy04 - 16-04-2023 (16-04-2023, 10:36 AM)Tricky Wrote: In some respects, I have some sympathy for EM. He is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. I think there wouldn't be too many upset if Steve stays next season if we're in the championship. The difference will be expectations will be high and there would be few if any excuses. Perhaps an environment that would be good practise for the pressure of the Premier League again. Not many in the UK will know but yesterday there was a huge game in Greece, Olympiakos - Panathinaikos. Yet EM chose to be at the City Ground for Forest - Southampton. A lot of Olympiakos fans not very happy and even hearing the name Nottingham is starting to make some of them sick. Some of the comments on Twitter yesterday from Olympiakos fans towards Nottingham were not very complimentary to say the least. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - ozzyten10 - 09-05-2023 I’m get that - they probably feel neglected when you look at his investment here. They are in a bit of turmoil for their standards too. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - wassy04 - 09-05-2023 They should hopefully start to see some benefits in the future if we fed them a few young talents that were actually good rather than the FFP throwaways. Start actually making it a mutually beneficial partnership. Lingard maybe?! They seem a bit jealous of us now with us being in the PL and getting a lot of media attention. Delighted EM was at the CG last night instead of Olympiakos - Panathinaikos. I'm not 100% sure how long the big man has owned Olympiakos but I'd imagine he has but a pretty penny into them as well but I can understand why their fans have got the hump. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 09-05-2023 Their fans actually got upset when a journalist called us their sister club. They didn't like it at all. How do you see it playing out longer term? A premier League club is always going to be bigger so if we're in the prem the issue is not going away. Could he be forced out of one of the clubs? Or if Oly just went back to winning would that resolve it all?
