i think Evangelos and Martin could form a rather special bromance, they are both very deep thinkers, i could imagine them have long chats late into the night, they could realistically make a very good job of sharing an allotment, i felt a bit lonely tonight i didn't see any frogs or pigeons or ducks and not 1 slug, it's not always a good thing to be on your own

I agree Robbo. I reckon Marinakis is the best thing to have happened to this club for a very long time.

Mr Maranakis appears genuine which along with ambition and wealth set us up for a successful future. I much prefer him to sharing the PSG riches that Leeds are frothing at the mouth about. That money will wash away their soul just like it has at Man City who used to be a real Club with honour at Maine rd.

Disappointed in Vrentzos after reading that article.
Just because they beat Burnley in the Europa League he thinks that Olympiakos would win the Championship.
There is no way on earth that over a 46 game season Olympiakos would win the Championship. Absolutely no way.

Hmm. An interesting sliver of the mindset. But I guess they're used to being winners in Greece. So they're confident.
But? That mindset tinted the rose coloured glasses of recruitment and what they expected of Aitor last year. 'Just' because Forest threw 'a few quid' at it last year didn't mean they were going to get promoted or win the Championship. (Something Colback even suggested in a recent NEP, ie. That it doesn't guarantee anything when other clubs have been doing 'that' for longer.)
And I think that mindset is a good thing, ultimately. They have belief based upon their success in Greece.
However, as they found out last year (and no doubt, as MoN has reminded them a few times...and has said so in the NEP as well!) the Championship and Greek football are different.
I have no doubt if they were in the Championship they'd be made to be competitive real quick and they'd go through managers until that was so. But they would be up against it to win it on their 1st attempt. It would be a culture shock for them.
They'd probably have to get rid of most of their entire playing squad for starters.

They know how to run a football club successfully. No doubt. And know the ingredients for success.
But they've gone for a manager in MoN who knows about the 'agricultural' standard of Championship 'muck and nettles' football and will recruit accordingly. Plays who are robust and can 'play a bit.'
They are probably mapping their ingredients for success over more 'localised' ingredients. Once recruitment matches the manager. Forest will take off. Top 6, the least of what I'd expect. Once Martin has 'his' players in. (ie. eg. Can't have forward players pulling out of tackles. Or as Brian once said, 'Your strikers aren't getting hurt enough.')
Which again, explains the whispers of Swedish scouting. Colour me unsurprised. (and can probably get a 'gem' over there a bit cheaper too?) I always found the Swedish national team like what a really good English national team would be. 'Robust' but can 'play a bit.' Athletic, physical, good team ethic and can pass the ball. Ergo, I feel they have the the kind of players with the mentality that is 'just right' for the Championship.

A good read and it's good to have that balance of Greek belief and professionalism with the unique ingredients required for a club like Forest, as Randal is clearly a 'believer.' That Forest is a 'special' club and it has history and that it's past and future are linked. That they keep the 'Miracle Men' close, have utilised that with the movie and bringing personal to the board who understand that and can market that in 'the Forest way' and installed a 'Miracle' man as manager and another club legend in Keane as his assistant. It's good to have 'Forest' men in key positions.
Successful ingredients. Just needs the right recruitment this Summer to match with the managerial team they employed.
That Mon and Keane have their faith and backing. It's nice to hear from the Forest hierarchy for a change. That augers well for their belief in the current managerial pair and gives me quiet optimism for the recruitment this Summer.

If he can replicate what he has done at Olympiacos then we will be there and stay there. What a place and club set up they have. I think all fans need to go and see what he has done. Came away believing this is going to be us, i don't think i've been more positive about things forest before.
I don't know if any of the Olympiacos fans read the site but hats off to them they were just outstanding and glad we are all one family.
