OK. I'm as gutted as anyone that we've been beaten, especially as we played well.

This has been a sh1tshow of a start to the season. No goals and no points before CH arrived and only 3 wins so far. But heres the thing, I love this club and many of our fans, I miss matchday home and away and all that entails. I quite like the debate on this site which is usually quite balanced even if - like me tonight- quite emotional.

But the negative shite you've been posting for some time has caught my interest and attention. As you say (paraphrased) we are all entitled to an opinion so long as it's yours...

So having posted numerous times negatively tonight regarding our unfortunate defeat, in the interests of balance I thought I'd look at how you responded to our win against Wycombe.....but not one post could I find (my very luddite system of trawling the matchday thread probably not the quickest or most efficient way). Not to worry, I had Coventry thread to check. Same method same result. Not one "well done lads" or even "3 lucky points".

Now I know nowt about you, so apologies if you were on holiday, dealing with a bereavement, medical emergency or your Mum hadnt paid your phone bill, none of my business.

However, I am calling you out? Why do you only post when we lose (and post many times). Do you have a grudge against my club? Are you one of the "I told you so" pr1cks found all over twitter.

Just intrigued. Alf for instance states clearly what his issues are with the club. But not just when we lose. More and more his very early appraisal of the clubs leadership is looking worryingly accurate and whilst I may not agree with him all the time I respect his balanced view. He also posted when we win for instance.

So please enlighten me as I am intrigued. What is it?

Disclaimer: If Widdow is (as some suspect) a pre-pubescent school kid, I take this all back and apologise. Get back on Fifa or whatever and win the Champions League for 10th consecutive season with Forest. Be sure to explain to Chris Hughton how it's done as his Championship experience clearly holds no gravitas.....

Haha thanks for calling me out on my negativity.

Just one little thing, we did score a goal before CH arrived in our loss to Bristol City, you must have forgotten that or couldn’t be bothered to post about it, but no worries wasn’t worth it.

Glad I have finally caught your attention, only been posting on this site and others for years. Glad you took time out of your busy Saturday to check if I got over excited and posted something positive when we beat Wycombe at home (can you imagine if we lost?) and as for Coventry, great performance, well not really but positive we got a win, and not only that a win in stoppage time for us rather than conceding one, but you’re quite right, didn’t post, didn’t think I needed to. I am not on Twitter, are you one of the Pricks on there?

I for one had hoped those 6 (very easy to get) points would’ve woken us up. I thought two weeks for CH to get training with the lads and get his philosophy across would also bear fruit. Well yes we did play well for a lot of the game, but all things being fair, we would’ve still lost that 5-3!

Perhaps should look back at my other posts whereas I do offer options on both sides and discuss reasoning behind my thoughts on signings, appointments and owners, which I have done for many years, so showing my age, but I agree I do act like for pre pub kid. (Don’t play fifa I was always a Pro Evo chap) and agree can be negative and like today throw my dummies out the Pram, a bit like how the owners keep on buying dummies.

But yeah read back on my posts if really interested, I rarely post on match forums, tend to be watching the games. Not only that you will then also see in my posts that not only is everything my opinion that I am also a bit of a seer, so don’t need the feel like the need to say I told you so, no hindsight with me!

Yeah it’s your club and my club, luckily I have seen the highs (many haven’t) if you think all his rosy, no worries it’s your club, we need the happy clappers (and by that I am not saying you’re delighted to have an STD). So yeah had the highs but it’s those lows that have made me wary, cautious, realistic, which some would call being negative but not one to bury my head in the sand and I will say what I have on my mind on an open forum even if some don’t like it, and I may get surprised to get a response like yours, and have to be honest enjoyed your post, loved being called out.

Finally, I will post something positive when they have earned it. Not sure anyone can say they have so far this year, but hey at least Derby are below us !!

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - stirred - 21-11-2020

My expectations were reset after 3 or 4 matches of Hughton. I was critical after matches 2,3 and 4 and I didn’t think the short-medium term was going to be pretty, but I didn’t want to be repeating myself and being the dark cloud so I took a break. That’s why I wasn’t posting about those 2 wins, though the somewhat fortunate win over Coventry and win over Wycombe didn’t change my outlook on Hughton. I hope the optimists are right though!

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - PsychoStanleyStone - 22-11-2020

for me, i want a manager that scores goals, i'm bored of not scoring, we virtually never score in the first half and quite often don't score for hours on end, i just want to enjoy games of football, talking points, yes some great chances but i want see some great goals, i don't care if we concede 5 as long as we fking score.
I wonder if clubs like Brentford bring players on well because maybe the game needs to be about demolishing sides, creating an overwhelming buzz of confidence .. and introduce youngsters and peripheral players when it is going well, I'm sure the come on much quicker and get in the zone.
The low or none scoring will hinder everything, i want a manager who is crazy, unorthodox, uses every tool in the box, we should have 1 of the best 16 player squads going.
If any team is going to be vulnerable or is vulnerable and out of puff in the last 10 minutes it will be us and we have no Grabbs, no Mighten and 3 left backs.
We seem to have managers who are so rigid in their approach, yes we played well, but the longer it went on the more it favours the young side who make 5 changes against maybe the oldest and injury prone 11 in the league.

Hope theres plenty of pop corn left....

Firstly, I applaud you for having the boll@cks to reply and in a reasonably honest way. For the record, I am not a happy Clapper and having thought of Wembley as my 2nd home and travelled Europe in better days, neither am I thinking all is rosy in The City Ground Garden. But, today anyone could see we set out with more attacking intent, opened up the opposition numerous times and up until 85th minute looked the better side. Accepting that and also the fact that CH has started the process of turning around a massive tanker heading in the wrong direction is still "cautious and realistic".

I hold my hands up to forgetting Freemans consolation goal (the best/only thing he has done this season??) was prior to CH. Still no points though.

Lacking respect for Coventry and Wycombe I think is unfair. For a start Coventry had Tyler Walker at their disposal, a player I believe you have as a 'seer' (whatever the f@ck that is, are you mates with Frodo or A dragon queen or something?) stated that selling Tyler was a huge mistake, but I digress. We were the 7th best team in the league last season yet slipped up against the likes of Charlton and Wigan otherwise we would have been in The Playoffs. So I think 6 points, whenever the goals came, is not something to be treated do sniffily.

I also watch the games and sometimes comment at HT or more often after the game. Does that make me a 'seer'?

Anyway, thanks for some answers. No idea what Pro Evo is as I'm too old, but I should let you get back to it as it may cheer you up a bit. I hate losing as much as the next man (or boy) but I can also recognize a half decent performance especially in the context of a team bereft of confidence this season. Bournemouth away will be tough as it comes, but if we nick something then I will take it-even as former double European Cup Winners..

Yes The sheep scum are below us, but that is scant consolation until we move up the table ourselves.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - stirred - 22-11-2020

Yeah, I want good football. Slick passing, pace, not afraid to commit men forward, there’s more than one way to produce attractive, exciting football but I don’t want negative stuff, diving and ‘game management’. I don’t care if that stuff is effective, it’s about more than the result for me. I want to be proud of how we approach the sport and be entertained. I want the club and the coaches it hires to have that philosophy.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Widdow - 22-11-2020

Doesn’t take bollocks to reply on a forum and morning after still didn’t mind you picking up in my negatives, as that was all my frustrations coming out, and will make sure I post when I see positive results as well.

Glad you seen good all days too, great to watch but find always comparing and perhaps shouldnt. One thing I can recall is Frank Clark tenure starting his championship season in not the greatest of form, but the signing of Lars and Philips got us on track, the sand of time though seems to be running out this season.

As for likes of Coventry and Wycombe, aye respect them, plucky league one clubs trying to make a splash in the bigger pool, but are we not Forest, are we not owned my ambitious owners who keep sacking managers for not delivering, shouldn’t we have won those?

Those owners need to take a hell a lot of responsibility and back CH, who as a manager I like to listen too and have respect for what he has done in this league, although didn’t want Forest to appointment him, which is something you can look back in my posts re the subject. I have been pleasantly surprised and actuall enjoyed watching the game for 70 minutes, yet frustrated not seeing the experienced manager not able to change the game or just the much bigger vast resources than plucky Barnsley who been coached by a championship novice.

Sure CH will learn and now has to pick up players for a really tough run of fixtures, but hey football is funny old game and wouldn’t be surprised on getting a result at Bournemouth but won’t hold my breath.

Posting during and after games on what happened is the opposite of being a seer, just Google it if not sure, but like your knowledge of fantasy characters

You seemed to mention FIFA so thought you would know about pro evo (or PES as it’s better known) have a go yourself rather than worrying about what I have or what I haven’t posted, broaden your horizons and take a chill pill and reflect that some may see game a little different to you.

Finally, whilst looking back at old posts, you perhaps need to read what I said about Tyler Walker. Nice lad, academy player, dad a legend not only for Forest but also for England and me watching the best World Cup Italia 90.

What I said very clearly, that it was stupid decision to bring him back from a successful loan at Lincoln, to sit in our stands and rarely play.I argued that is was a shortsighted decision and if he stayed he could have continued to score goals and have a higher market value.

I was proved right (Google seer) and not only didn’t he play we let him leave for a paltry £500k. Ok he was in last year of contract but so was Ivan Toney (a player I said we should recruit in the summer) and after he played well in league one sold for £6.5m.

I didn’t moan we sold him I moaned we didn’t get market value. He has scored more goals than Grabban has in last 20 games or so. Don’t sweat the games just throwing it out there.

So to me it’s down to how the club is being run and poor recruitment and novice transfer decisions. See my other threads on that subject if fancy some Sunday trolling, as for what I’ll be doing is reflecting on my negativity and having fun with the family. .
