I don’t understand the obsession with recruitment. There’s not much wrong with the squad considering what a club of our size can afford. As Sniff says, we can’t afford to do what clubs like Bournemouth and Swansea do and sign 11 McKennas. Grosicki would have helped, as would a fit Worrall and Grabban. I also don’t get the criticism of Christie. People don’t seem to understand that we had to replace a Premier League standard player with a Championship standard player. What else were Forest meant to do?

It’s the pecking order in the Championship in 2020, whoever we sign. Smaller clubs like Forest have to overachieve to get in the top six.

‘Smaller’ clubs?
We’re talking about the Championship - not the Premier League.

The fact is we have been a Championship club for 20 years or so. We have 20 year old fans who have never seen us play in the PL. We are what we are, an average Championship club but for some reason signing proven Championship players is not good enough for some. How the hell can we replace a 15M PL right back (Cash) with someone just as good or better?

We may be ‘average’ as you put it Sniff.
But - in Championship terms - we remain one of the bigger clubs.

Totally different ball game to the PL.

If size is defined by fan base then we're up there. But if it's based on winning football matches I'd say 20 years outside the prem makes us bang average.

The system is rigged, it is harder for us to compete and get promoted against teams getting parachute payments from the PL.
However it is possible, Leeds last season, Shef Utd season before, so there is a glimmer of hope.

Marinakis acquired us in full knowledge of our history and didn’t do so for us to remain a small Championship club.

Not sure what any of the last twelve posts have to do with the subject of the thread, apologies for perpetuating.

Seems like every thread at the moment is about Vrentzos or recruitment!!

Trying to get us back on track then, will CH persist with the two strikers (or one and a half depending how you look at it) tomorrow night? I don't think so. Guerroro struggled on Sunday, Lolley didnt do any better in that position and Freeman is out of the picture. I cant imagine he'd want to Start young Swan. So for me he'll go back to 4-5-1. Hope he's had chance to work at it because for me Taylor is lost on his own up there unlike Grabban who is excellent on his own.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 01-12-2020

I suppose it depends who CH has available Pap.

Grabban I believe is very very close to a return.

CH not been able to field a team yet with Sow, Worrall and Grabban down the spine.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - ozzyten10 - 01-12-2020

I hope we aren’t relying on that spine... Worrall most likely to be sold to pay for shortfalls, grabban seems to want out and sow is a biscuit.

For the time being though Ozzy they are all here and if they are fit they should all play.
