Bournemouth have played Villa H, Man City A, Arsenal H and Liverpool A and got 3 points. If that were our starting fixtures I think we'd be accepting of that to be honest. Not the 9-0 obviously, but to win one of those games is ok. He's not been sacked based on results this season I reckon, he's been sacked because 1) they staggered over the line last season when they should have won promotion at a canter, and 2) He's criticised the board for not signing players and the players for not being good enough. When you do that as a manager there's only one outcome.

It sounds like it's very much part 2, tbf criticising the players for not being good enough is not a great look and he has said it repeatedly. It's not really comparable to our situation as you'd have expected Bournemouth to already have a solid base after their previous spending in the championship. More like Fulham where you'd be wanting 4 or so not first teamers and the rest from last year.

Just been listening to a US radio show called “grumpy pundits” with Tommy Smithe and Tom Rennie.
Both saying we are “doing a Fulham” and we’ve signed to many players who don’t know who each other are. They went on to say the players we’ve signed only maybe 4 of them are “bottom half premiership players” others are not premiership standard, and that we will be in real trouble. It’s a phone in show and I would love to call them at the end of the season, when we stay up, to remind them of their comments.

In fairness the jury's still out on the quality of most of our signings. They sound like they ignored the obvious need we had to build a new squad, regardless of how well the business actually ends up going.
