CH not afraid to make big calls. Leaving Garner out last night for Yates took some balls. Great that his decision was justified.

100%.

Hughton's post match comments about Yates were spot on. Well deserved praise coming from the venerable Hughton.

Chris Hughton has told Talksport he jumped at the chance to become the new Nottingham Forest manager.

“I’m certainly of an age and have been around the game long enough to know the standing of a club like Nottingham Forest.

Certainly once that opportunity to become manager here came, it was something I instantly thought was a real good job for me.

I’m really pleased and happy to be here. It’s a special club. It’s possibly the biggest job of my career.”

Well said, Chris.  I'm glad to have you as manager.

When is Chris going to Twist instead of Stick?
Not to mention Calling instead of folding?
Ideally need to get to Chris Re Raising
It's all about the Chips but you don't get loads of Chips without the aggression and belief
Folding and limping seems to be a thing of the past
But we are yet to take down some Big if not huge Pots
There is a few big head to heads coming up
Could end up short stacked again
Hoping Chris will at some stage start to push hard, take the initiative and sock it to 'em with confidence

Reporter: 'Chris are you holding a pair of Aces?'

Chris: 'Well I have to look at what I have got and decide what to do and how to win'

Reporter: 'Well this is where we ask you a question and actually answer it ourselves and you keep your cards very, very close to your chest .. you are in good form, everyone wants to play, many back from injuries, looking to win the game, is there anything you would like to add Chris?'

Chris: (smiling assassin pokerface) well, not really, thanks for your time.

well, 5 teams and an 11 point cushion from the relegation places, that is very good

could of realistically bagged another 5 points from recent games as well

looking convincingly dominant in a few games as well recently as really prior to this, a year or 2 of generally relying on holding out and a smash and grab

could have 2 competent, ready baked players for each position

smashed Luton by 4 goals to 1 (tbc)

seems to have a very harmonious, galvanised and motivated dressing room

gives nothing away (in interviews, on the pitch or playing poker)

Watching us now is embarrassing, and it saddens me that the club is gaining a reputation for being dour and negative. For me it is far worse to watch us play like we do now than to approach matches trying to win but (also) with limited success.

I haven’t posted for a while because I don’t want to be accused of being negative. I understand the arguments people make, saying we were in free-fall and of building a foundation, but I don’t buy it and for me there is simply no excuse for playing the way we are playing.

Our squad is comfortably better than the clubs around us, the likes of Derby, Rotherham, Coventry, Wycombe, Wednesday, QPR, Birmingham. They would love to swap their squads for ours.

Yet there is a narrative that we need to play this way to avoid relegation. I do not believe it. We were never going down.

To compound the playing style, in a season where we are neither going up nor down, it should be about building for next season. Yet our two teenage prospects watch from the bench while a 37 year-old loanee now leads our attack. It’s a good job there are no crowds allowed.

It makes me sad and it makes me angry to see us approach the game like we do, to the point where I feel the need to take a break from watching them too. I can only hope that the club employs a manager who understands the modern game and can have us showing ambition and playing entertaining football sooner rather than later.

I disagree with pretty much all of that.

As for the club’s reputation, it’s only a few years ago that the widely held perception was that nffc was a chaotic joke football club who deliberately tried to cheat ffp but failed miserably and nearly paid the price by being relegated. We are a long way away from that disgraceful circus.

I’m delighted we have such a good manager who not only knows what he’s doing, but has turned us around quite quickly from the demoralised club he inherited. We are lucky to have him. Long may we continue playing the way we are.

Can’t wait for the day Hughton leaves!

Uninspiring negative shite!

Seriously considering not renewing next season, the blokes insulting us fans!
