RE: Player Of The Season? - Marinakis Red - 08-04-2022 Mckenna for me as it stands, but a last minute winner at Hull from anybody to take us up could sway my thinking but it would take something special like that to change my mind on The Wall. From on the pitch as we celebrate..... RE: Player Of The Season? - Derby My Arse - 09-04-2022 Tough call I will give it more games and more time before deciding. RE: Player Of The Season? - Paplane - 09-04-2022 The longer the season goes on the longer the case for McKenna grows. It's a tough one. Without the impact of Johnson and Spence's pace the offensive side would look a whole lot less effective. But we're tight as a nun's chuff at the back and McKenna is primary reason for that. But wow, what an impact Davis has made since he's come in. He's moved us up a level from decent side to the best side, or second best side in the league. I think he's just edging it atm but there's a few games left yet and I change my mind every day. 1 from 4 though. Johnson, Spence, McKenna, Davis. RE: Player Of The Season? - zicorice - 13-04-2022 Remember the first 7 games? (shudders). Only Mckenna and Zinck were performing consistently. Obviously Zinc hasn't been as consistent, so right now I'd have to say Mckenna. But could all change in last 7 games... Spence, Colback, Worrall, Garner Yates, Jonno and arguably Davis all in the running. Makes such a nice change to have numerous candidates. Hopefully, Samba will keep a string of 9 clean sheets going until end of season to get into the running..... Is McKenna really contributing more to our defence than Worrall? What's he done wrong aside from miss the first few games. I maintain if you take Johnson out of this side we aren't in the top 6 whereas if you take McKenna out the gap could be filled. Johnson can sometimes get shut down by other teams but even then this will require leaving gaps for our other attackers. I think you could argue that Davis addition has provided that additional pace up top to mean that defences couldn't just focus on Johnson/Spence. You could also make a case for our entire 11 though it's mad. What a year, just got myself pumped up for Friday unnecessarily there haha RE: Player Of The Season? - Username - 13-04-2022 (13-04-2022, 02:11 PM)Paplane Wrote:(13-04-2022, 01:38 PM)Sniffer Dog Wrote:(09-04-2022, 08:14 AM)Paplane Wrote: The longer the season goes on the longer the case for McKenna grows. Amazed that you’ve not mentioned Yates tbh. Or Colback or Garner or Bong!! RE: Player Of The Season? - HebdenRed - 13-04-2022 Sorry to sound like an arse but I’d rather this go to a permanent Forest player this season. Don’t hate this - it’s just a personal opinion !!!! I know that the case for Spence is a good one but McKenna has been out of this world this season. Of our players Yates and Worrall and Johnson and Colback have also been superb. But McKenna for me. No nonsense. Kick it and head it. The trouble is, as has happened over previous seasons is we vote for our Player of the Year and then end up losing them! Dorus De Vries, Matty Cash are just two examples that spring to mind! If it is Brennan, then we could potentially lose him, or Worrall even. Garner and Spence are likely to leave anyway, we already know that. My vote is for McKenna and I just hope and pray we don't get any offers for our very own Braveheart that we find hard to turn down this summer! Maybe we should all vote for Bong!!! lmao |
