I think it should be just perms and we need separate threads for loans.

I think maybe you have an overall, then just a loans thread.

The loans thread would basically just be a vote of who was better out of Spence, Garner, Zinc and Davis!

True.

Best signing for a Fee Antonio
Best Freebie probably Cook, honourable mention for Ameobi
Best loan Billy Sharp although Spence has to be up there now
Best academy player Cash
Best manager, well obviously but another honourable mention for Dougie

Agree with all of this although I would put Spence above Sharp (also how about the original super loan Nicky Shorey?!)
I'd be leaning Brennan for best academy player too, maybe that's an attacking player bias.

Was Shorey less than 10 years ago, it seems like ages.

I was just thinking that.

This is what happened 10 years ago.

Geddy on loan from Wolves basically kept us up that season.

No probably just outside of that bracket actually. Still had a weirdly transformative influence on the team that we became very aware of when he left!

I'd go Britt as best signing. Was quality until injured, then made himself a really good player after injury (helping us stay up,), then sold for £7 million profit.

Best freebie: Cook
Best Loan: Spence. A nobody to a £20 million player-albeit for Spurs.
Best academy player: Easily the most competitive category. 1st Brennan. 2nd Joe Worrall 3rd Ryan Yates. 4th Matty Cash .

Will add: Permanent signing greeted with least enthusiasm but changed opinion very quickly:
Sam Surridge- think he'll become as talismanic as Grabbs became, he oozes quality

Gotta have Colback in the top 3 best freebies.

RE: Best NFFC Signings In The Last 10 Years - Plymouth red - 11-06-2022

Cook - brilliant signing. Allowed us to play three at the back and this freed up our wing backs to bomb forward. Is it any coincidence that it was his arrival that saw us really start to climb the table.

Historically, got a soft spot for britt and Antonio. Both were very good signing and we certainly got the best out of both and sold both on for a profit.

If it wasn't for Britt's goals in that shower of shite season we stayed up on final day, who is to say where we would be. Massive what if moment there

Still can't see beyond Mckenna.
