Some of the comments from the media are embarrassing. Lingard would have a brilliant signing and a sign of west hams ability. But because he has signed for us he has become a poor player who could not get in a poor man utd team.

I just cant take west ham seriously. All through my childhood and teenage years they were crap and that's how I'll always consider them. They're only doing well in the last 10 years or so because they are a london club and so attract a disproportionate amount of support and media attention.

If any of you have been lucky enough to have spoken to Steve Cooper before then you’ll know just what a fantastic bloke he is - he’s the kind of bloke who could tell you your entire family had been wiped out in a car crash and you’d come out of it feeling like it wasn’t so bad after all. I’d imagine him having a nice chat with Jesse was all that was needed to seal the deal, also it’s reassuring it’s not a vanity signing and that SC thinks he can get a tune out of him and is onboard with it.
