There is an irony here. We spent 23 years trying to get back so we could play in these type of games, but right now, I'd rather be playing Bournemouth. That said, there is no pressure on us tomorrow, whereas Saturday will be far more high pressured. We expect to lose tomorrow and man City will be expected to win comfortably - in those circumstances strange things occasionally happen.

I've begun that confidence with a little wager on Villa, Forest and Newcastle all winning on Wednesday night for the price of a curry at 1600:1 I could not say no.

We need to stop saying we expect nothing from the games against the better teams especially if we do aspire to be in Europe sooner rather than later. Nonsense, we should and will strive to get a result in every single match. That's not to say we don't respect them for their abilities, but it's 11 vs 11 on the pitch at any given time, sport does not follow rules of statistical ability.

Yes agreed, except Man City are the exception to that rule. I fancied with had a chance vs Spurs but Man City are literally the best team in the World and one of the best ever. You're allowed to write this game off.

The best team in the world? How many European champions leagues have they won? The beat team in the world must have won at least one, surely?

I understand the point of view but there's a massive difference between writing a game off and not beating ourselves up too much if we lose.
I get it, just don't like being a compete wuss about it. Making it known they'll beat us generally makes it a self fulfilling prophecy.
We have England, Brazil, Belgium International players these days.....

Man City probably are the best team in the world as we speak but that doesn't make them the best club in the world because they are not that.

A knockout tournament that is therefore decided on the luck of the draw does make it more tricky to win but I get your point. If I was doing a power rankings for all teams, I'd still put them at the top. Fine margins in knockout games but if there was a European Super League (crazy idea... ) I'd back them to win the title.

Real Madrid best club in the world. Liverpool possibly no2 (as much as I hate to say it). Agree, Man City best team currently.
