Yes. He’s not been a standout player but when he has played his quality is evident for all to see
The pace here is a massive difference to the Dutch league so no wonder his fitness isn’t quite up to scratch.
Once he’s fully fit teams will fear him and he’s not going to be fully match fit without playing games.
It’s similar to Lodi last season.
He struggled for the first few months, and alot were championing Toffolo to replace him.
Coops knew his ceiling was so much higher than Toff so played him into form.
Same with Sangare - huge ceiling and needs to work through this
I think it would be harsh to say Sangare is struggling.
MGW is having a tougher time of it than him this season.

I couldn't agree more.
He came from a pretty good team and quite few "big" teams were after him as well. I've always been a big believer in that you don't become a "S**t Player" over night and will always need time to settle in to which I've also been a big believer in getting your transfer deal done earlier to give the player a fighting chance to hit the ground running.
I have no worries about him and if and when the time comes will make a profit on the lad.
Sangare was poor for the second goal on sunday. he didn’t track the runner from midfield. he was the nearest forest player. That is basic and Most of the time the team under Cooper has been very good at doing those things. Yates and Colback were very good at doing the basics. I think it came shortly after Sangare got a bang on the head which might have had an impact. He does look good on the ball to me and worth his place in the team. Yates has to come back in somewhere. Is Dominguez doing enough. Do we need to play Mangala at home. i am not sure. We have four really good central midfield players. It’s higher up the pitch we have more problems.
I can give you plenty of examples where Yates and Colback didn’t do the basics last season.

I think mgw would be playing alot better and getting more g/a if he was played in a 10 role. Instead of on the wing,

Completely agree, it's much more difficult to judge central midfielders based solely on the eye test. Stats are really useful, thank you.
Be interested to see the stats in comparison to the rest of the team. Also, good to know that maybe Sangare isn't too bad after all!
I spent ages compiling a few points in answer to this post, but managed to delete it right at end.
Sniffer says it very succinctly, stats can be very misleading.
My evidence was around how poor Sangare was (letting runners off back of him throughout etc) and passing stats would make Joe Worrall our best player (I think). Yates played best forward pass of game, but a Liverpool player made a good tackle getting to ball 1st as he was quicker, but on stats, is an incomplete pass. A pass to keeper is a complete pass though. Effort, energy and driving team forward are not in stats, a decent cross into box is not a positive stat if opposition get head to it first, Yates put another great cross in-but just a completed pass on stats? The caveat of course is that the game had gone by then.
Crawley Town nearly got relegated out of league by basing their team selection on purely stats last season.(weird experiment that!) Doing quite a bit better when I last looked now they've reverted to normal.
Anyone present or who saw on TV (or both) could see Sangare had a poor day-as did many others- regardless of how many passes he completed or tackles he won. He looked better when pushed on, which probably is more a reflection on how bad he (and we) had been in the defensive midfield areas. Body language and reading situations not great on the day either. Despite the fee I think he will need time to adjust from one of the most pedestrian leagues in Europe, to the fastest most physically demanding league.
Of course Stats can be useful, but only in context and as part of a bigger picture.

Do you not follow general football? Have you checked a league table recently? Villa are 5th (deservedly) and have only lost twice so far to Liverpool and Newcastle.

We can get points off anyone at home as shown last season, Fans just need to lower their expectations a little bit and get behind the team more, This is probably the first home game of the season we aren’t favourites for so I’m sure the atmosphere gonna be great on Sunday.

We need a win and very soon. Home wins are what we did best last year and reds is correct we need to get the CG rocking again, the fans have relatively been poor so far.
However not sure failing to beat a superior team is really an excuse. Its just kind of what happens in competitive sports.
