RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - stirred - 11-03-2024 The refs give big clubs better decisions for the most part not because they’ve been bribed (I hope…) but because they have more fans, media attention etc so there will be a bigger shi*tstorm if they go against them. And obviously a ref doesn’t want that, it’s human nature. There’s an inherent incentive for refs to favour the big clubs with the media clout. If you put up with it, sure as eggs are eggs it will continue. Clattenburg gives us media attention to fight our corner. Short-term have we got the backs of the refs up, probably. But we need to stand up for ourselves and say we won’t be the patsy on decisions cos you don't want to upset the bigger force when there’s a tough call to be made. They need to know if they screw us over it will be all over the papers and tv. RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - WrexhamRed - 11-03-2024 I've been thinking about this Clattenburg appointment (or possibly overthinking it??) & I'm wondering if he's been brought in to collect evidence to then present as an expert when Big E sues the PGMOL/EPL for corruption or summat  RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - stirred - 11-03-2024 (11-03-2024, 01:14 AM)WrexhamRed Wrote: I've been thinking about this Clattenburg appointment (or possibly overthinking it??) & I'm wondering if he's been brought in to collect evidence to then present as an expert when Big E sues the PGMOL/EPL for corruption or summat  I'd like to hear the audio from the conversation between ref and var. It's transparent in rugby, what's the problem here? What are they hiding? In fact I'd like to see any WhatsApp chats these officials have going amongst themselves. Can you subpoena them like in the movies? RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - BomberBowyer - 11-03-2024 What I’d like to see is our club, and by that I mean players, coaches, officials etc, all stop going on about decisions against us and just get on with doing the job on the pitch. Yes, I know we’ve had plenty of decisions go against us but let us the fans talk about those. If we truly believe as a club that the PGMOL and/or PL have it in for us then imo best to shut up and do our talking on the pitch. Yes that may be hard when we don’t get free kicks, penalties, red cards against us etc but we need to have a ‘we’ll show them’ attitude and win/stay up despite them instead of this whiny little attitude we appear to have at present with manager, players and clattenburg bemoaning everything which does us no favours and quite frankly is embarrassing. So do we just roll over and continuingly let the refs f**k us over week in week out. Whether we like it or not we need to keep calling these blatant cheating calls, ulterior motives or just bone lazy refereeing however you want to say it. I just don't understand why we should ""just get over it and carry on"" as the rules are there for every single team and should be enforced for every single team no matter what. If we don't take a stand against it then the next season or the season after and after that will have some other club get the same treatment as us. Yes definitely I don't think it would be pathetic Sal on the contrary I think it would be admirable and show real balls. Also why should we care what the others think? RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - Salvatore Matrecano - 11-03-2024 Sorry Sniffer, we would be a national laughing stock if we did that. Remember when Warnock did that for Sheff Utd? For a start the league awarded them a 0-3 defeat, if we did it wouldn’t be surprised if we got an automatic deduction on top. RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - toddy - 11-03-2024 someone else on dead ball situations .good as MGW is , and he is a special player, freekicks ect are just not in his skillset. do we have nobody else ? I noticed Murillo sniffing around once or twice and did take a decent shot at goal. Straight down the keepers throat maybe, but at least it was on target, not wasted like we usually do! Can anyone remember the last time we scored from a free kick directly? Can't remember any in the prem. I just saw a newspaper on someone’s desk, the sport supplement to be precise. Headline is Klopp complaining about not getting a penalty. Big picture of the tackle splashed on the page. Second paragraph names the referee and the VAR official by name. This is what I’m talking about. And this is why we can’t sit back as the pasty while the other clubs can bully officials with their media presence. RE: Two Things I Want To See Happen - Simon - 12-03-2024 For me I want to see the crowd get behind the team in defiance of the PGMOL and our current position. Needs to start away at Luton on Saturday (away support is always great) but it will be the fans not the players that create the siege mentality. and take it into Palace and Fulham - Tuesday night under the lights v Fulham could be huge. Also it would be nice if we had a song for Nuno. Just saying. |
