RE: Nottingham Forest - Luton Town (FA Cup) - Marinakis Red - 08-01-2025

If you think of all the changes we made against Newcastle in the league cup earlier in the season, think it was 10 that night, we still put in a top performance against pretty much there first choice team and only beaten on penalties.

Looks like Rob Edwards has left Luton today.

Is Danilo ready?

I would play the back ups with Taiwo feasting. I would play Boly and Omo but wouldn’t be surprised if Morato is playing.

Love Danilo to be playing in this game. Would be great for the lad.

Chicago: Putting Sosa in with Silva

Why risk Morato?

He is so valuble to us.

If he were to get injured then our game plan management is over.

There is really no need to be risking that in my opinion.

He would benefit from more game time though.

Also, the risk of an individual player getting injured is pretty slim. I think it makes sense to rest the starters purely due to the proximity of the Liverpool game but not the likes of Morato.

I personally wouldn't mind if the first team (or most of it) played vs Luton, keep the momentum going, get ahead early and make 5 subs at HT. Obviously easier said than done but a random surprise defeat to Luton would be a bit damaging to morale just before Liverpool even if most of the starters aren't involved.

Plus, we're 3rd in the league and have no Europe (yet!) we could legitimately win this tournament! We should be one of the teams prioritising it.

I think I'd rest Wood, CHO, MGW, Murillo, maybe Aina and keep the rest, those guys have had injuries recently and/or are older.

Particularly as Liverpool have L2 fodder Accrington so will field children.

Nuno confirmed Danilo won't start but will be involved with the squad. Maybe a 15 minute cameo at the end?

Brilliant.

My favourite player is back.

Great to see Danilo back. An infectious character and player. His energy will give us something else. Cannot wait to applaud him on Saturday afternoon.

Great news! He's going to have his work cut out to get in the team at the moment though.

Problems you love to have.

Absolutely wassy, he will have to step up a level again to get back in to the starting team. A challenge I'm sure he will relish. We can only benefit from them all pushing each other hard.

Great to see isn't it?
