Looking for Bondswell to commit.

Unfortunately it looks as though Matthew Bondswell is moving to RB Leipzig.

Not buying young Bondswell’s farewell on Twitter given the 8 years of effort & investment that the club have put in.
I know nothing of the background to this but sniff the involvement of an over zealous father.

Forest's Academy have been recruiting developing very good talent for a while now. eg. Burke. Then sold to RBL for a huge sum.

Our Academy is now a target for 'recruitment' by other clubs. Instead of collecting a decent fee for Bondswell, Forest get nothing? I don't know much about this particular player and how good he might be or become potential wise.

Why pay a huge sum for an Academy product who makes it into the first team when you can surgically recruit them much earlier and pay nothing?

Something for the club to guard against.

SA.

TBF the post says "an ex European Cup winner". No mention of it being a Forest winner.

It is/was an ex Forest European Cup Winner?

Hmm we’ll see...

That was the original claim from a poster on CGF if I remember correctly. The person who, for whatever reason, made it up clearly overlooked the fact that the majority of players involved at that time will now be in their mid/late-sixties or older.

Quite frankly, it was one of the daftest things I've read on a Forest forum, and I couldn't believe how many bought it.

Well, that 'claim' (as you call it), was made by me pal, on this forum as well as on Vital when I used to post on there.

I don't make stuff up, as many people will tell you on this forum.  If you think that I do, then this forum is in deep deep trouble!!

Gary Mills is/was the man in question (I sent pm's to a few on here). It happened (interview etc) , absolute 100% fact.

By the way, It may still happen (his appointment), no appointment has been made yet...Gary Mills is 56, not late sixties, he is one year older than Gary Brazil.

Please, don't try to make this forum like some of the others by attacking posters who pass on good info in good faith.

Info' is appreciated, Sniffer. That's what makes this forum so good. Info' being passed on in good faith.

Would be good to have Gary Mills running the u23s.

Involving the 'Miracle Men' in the club is a sound idea.

I second that SA. its great to have a forum where you can actually discuss forest without insults or childish behaviour.

long may it continue.

NEP says a development fee will have to be paid in compensation.

Shame he's going. (A LB, ironically.). Guess he wasn't ready for the first team?

Good to read that the young guns have been training with the squad players. Young players will see a path to the first team. If they're good enough and have the right attitude.
