He was written off by absolutely everyone including myself and he has rammed it all back down our throats. I suppose certain players just click with certain managers. Great debate right there. I'm going to say David Johnson. £3 million quid and was awful, shipped out on loan. Then had a great pre-season under Hart and then carried it on. Even bigger turn around than Watson as we have seen Watson do well for us previously, whereas Jonno didnt until that season. Is Danny Fox in a similar bracket as he went from being considered one of our worst ever signings and many questioned how he even became a footballer, to being an OK Championship centre back. Robbo? Jobbing centre mid who couldn't tackle in the 2nd division, to best left sided player on the planet-ever. Woodcock? Probably a bit unfair as was a youngster, nearly offloaded to Lincoln. Any others? I think Mr. Consistency sums him up perfectly. RE: Ben Watson - Redgirl - 08-05-2020 I would chose Watson over Cash. Cash has been brilliant this season but for me Watson has been excellent and for his age his consistency has been astonishing plus his passion and pride in the shirt has been admirable. I was one of those that wrote him off at the start of the season I’m ashamed to say. Thoroughly deserves another season in the Garibaldi RE: Ben Watson - Ciscokid - 08-05-2020 He really is a role model displaying total professionalism and commitment especially when you bear in mind the length of his career and how it had been decided that he was declining. RE: Ben Watson - King Joe - 08-05-2020 Nice for fans to have a debate on who is player of the season rather than being only one choice. But he has missed so many games this season and it would be a little unfair on the likes of Cash or Watson, who have been in the side for the majority of the season. to be voted behind him IMO RE: Ben Watson - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 09-07-2020 It's the Skipper's birthday today. Ben is now 35. Should we give him the 2 year deal that he is apparently asking for? RE: Ben Watson - ThePromisedLand - 09-07-2020 If that’s what it takes - yes. But then again - if we’re in the PL? The recruitment team have a thankless task at the moment. RE: Ben Watson - zicorice - 09-07-2020 (09-07-2020, 11:03 AM)ThePromisedLand Wrote: If that’s what it takes - yes. I think he would be even more important if we went up, so yes from me.1 RE: Ben Watson - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 09-07-2020 It's a tricky one I can't decide. I would definitely give him a one year but he wants two. RE: Ben Watson - King Joe - 09-07-2020 I don't think he is playing as well since the restart as he was before, I would just offer the 1 year with the option of another year if he plays x amount of games. |
