Yes, part of my frustration. If we're playing experience instead of developing our prospects we at least need to be getting performances, but it's been obvious since last season that Figs needed to be dropped.

Purely from an asset value perspective, FFP and not selling our youth prematurely and all that, Figs' value has gone down from repeatedly playing him, whereas Mbe Soh's should be going up unless we've bought a dud, but obviously won't without getting on the pitch.

He's 19 and a half, he's young but not a baby, and once Worrall is in the side with McKenna how does he get game time then? And if we sell Worrall - please for the love of God don't, if we were to sell him and buy Knockaert I will go ballistic - we want to have tested his ability to step up as replacement?

I really don’t see Knockaert here beyond January - unless an extension to his loan deal ( with no commitment to buy ) could be negotiated.
He’s certainly not shown a scrap of evidence to date to warrant shelling out many millions to get him.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - PsychoStanleyStone - 26-11-2020

is there any point talking about changes in formation or even line up and while we are at it who's on the bench or who will score first, the blanks we always fire in the first half, the response to going behind, the 75th minute sub, or discussing the proverb about if you don't learn from the mistakes of the past you are doomed to repeat them

we are good enough to beat Swansea but confidence and focus on scoring goals really needs to be addressed, maybe it will

i think the team that is most fired up and hungry and brave wins this

the funny thing is, if we did win we would become a 'form' team, giving us 9 points from the last 5 games, only 3 teams have picked up more than 9 points from the last 5 games

at the moment Swansea have 8 points from there last 5, if we beat them they will have 5 points from there last 5

if we could somehow pick up 9 points from the next 5 games we are getting airborne to destination sunny play offs and still have around another 4 games to go upto Jan 2nd 2021 and the next 2 week break.

Then play 3 at the back when Worrall is fit. Yates & Arter in CM, we don't need Colback 'protecting' with 3 at the back and those centre halves can distribute the ball. Use wing backs, get on the front foot.

That could work Stirred. Mbe Soh RCH, Worral CCH and McKenna LCH. Ribs on the left wing and Christie on the right, then we dont have to worry quite as much about both FB's positioning and both Ribs and Christie do have pace on the wings

Fair point it might protect our lack of defensive ability at full back. Has CH ever played this tactic though?

Not sure, personally, but he would have to play along the lines of 3-5-2 or 3-5-1-1 . Would a 3-4-2-1 work?

I would guess more of a 3-4-2-1, with the '2' being Knockaert, Ameobi for example, like the 2 widish advanced mids of the '3' in a 4-2-3-1. It's not a million miles from what we have played previously, in 4-1-4-1 or 4-2-3-1.

Instead of having a Watson or Colback screen the defence or drop into them and the full backs move up the pitch, we play with 3 at the back who are able to distribute themselves and have a bit more responsibility, and the full backs become generally more offensive.

We often complain that we're disjointed, too big a gap between compartments on the pitch. I think this would give more emphasis on bodies supporting attacking play, and play into the strengths / avoid weaknesses we have at the back.

As ever, tweak it based on opposition. Would like to see it tried, but no I don't expect it!

Based on your view on this Stirred, I would like to see CH be brave and try something like that

RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Alf Garnett - 27-11-2020

Sow, Worrall and Grabban. That is our spine that has been ripped out of our side from last season through injury.

That's true Alf and it's hurting us at the moment. They all played a big part in getting us up at the top end last season.

They're a huge miss.  Power.  Leadership.  Goals.  A formidable spine.

Sow.  A fit Sow powerhoused the team into the top 6.  Twice.

SA.

Wrong thread lads, but I have taken your predictions and put them on my system  :shy:

RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 29-11-2020

I want to see some changes today personally, hopefully at right back, at CH and at DCM. I'd give Christie a 'rest', give Figs a 'rest' and break up that Colabck/Yates duo.

RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - ThePromisedLand - 29-11-2020

What about giving Cafu a run out?
Can’t do any worse than the 3 in midfield on Tuesday night.
