I don’t care where the manager’s from, what colour they are, what race they are etc etc....I just want a manager who likes to have a go at teams mainly from the off(especially at home). I’m certainly not asking for Keegans Newcastle type of football, just someone who knows how to attack & knows how to defend, actually has a go against more superior opposition(even if we loose, you can’t argue with the team when they’ve put the shift in) and let’s the opposition worry about us for a change. Surely that can’t be to much to ask for??
The likes of Norwich, Swansea, Brentford, Watford and Barnsley don’t seem to find it difficult appointing these type of managers.

Agreed Greenman. That's how it should be. Hopefully this will put to bed the nonsense about not employing so called unknown foreign managers.

Still lacking in goals, creativity, endeavour and pace. No heart, as soon as we go a goal down, we are done for and also not showing anything to look forward to, or green shots to recovery. Not sure i would want him looking at Transfers, it would be another year for Glenn Murray no doubt.
Norwich have clearly shown, you can win more games than you lose in this league, with young exciting players, playing good passing, high pressing football, same as Brentford who we play next.
Hughton old skool tactics simply not working, so why stick with him??
That was going to be my other point regarding Barnsley’s managerial change....Would anyone say Barnsley have a better squad than us?? I’m not for one moment saying our squad is fantastic, but he’s got them challenging for a play off place playing some good attacking football along the way.
Ok but it's not fair to pick out this one example and ignore all times where it's failed. Barnsley are overachieving in the same way we did last year, albeit playing better football.
I think it's fair to talk about the style of football though, we've consistently focused on managers with a pragmatic style as opposed to a more attacking focus since Warbs left. Now I would say its a positive that there has been a consistency in style of football, theoretically this should allow for an easier transition to a different manager. This style of football I would say is the most likely to get a team up that doesn't have parachute payments in my opinion (although Barnsley are showing it is possible)
From a fan's perspective, yes it would be great to employ someone with a more exciting style. I really wanted Carlos Carvalhal formerly of Wednesday and Swansea who we almost appointed after Karanka I think (or maybe it would've been instead of him I forget). I think it gives the manager a bit more leeway with the fans if they can see a more exciting style, although maybe Warbs can testify that wasn't necessarily the case.
So from the owners perspective you can see why they might go down the route of someone more likely to win as opposed to someone that might suit the fans better. Is this view outdated? Maybe so, Leeds went up last year playing high tempo, attacking football, maybe benefitted from the break to avoid their annual blip though.
Looking down the league, it's worked for Norwich, Brentford to an extent, Barnsley, QPR overachieving probably, Luton too.
Alternatively, Bournemouth, Stoke, Blackburn, Huddersfield, Derby, Rotherham, Coventry have all tried to be more progressive and it's not worked out great for them really.
So in conclusion, lets sack him and bring in Carvalhal... :D

Foreign to me really only translates usually as unknown or a big name or something impossible to guage or assess, Karanka and Sabri were no worse or no better than Hughton or Warburton, out of those 4 the only potential lesson is that Warburton best ticked all the boxes, namely the 'hindsight' box in particular for me.
Karanka, Sabri and Hughton are virtually exactly the same manager style, personality and football generally dull and uninspiring, i think i would stick with a manager who was actually alive and loved the game and shared his ideas and enthusiasm and most important belief
From a Forest perspective I don't think Hughton barely compares to O'Neill and Keane, the football similar, but a massive journey and story potential compared to what?
Like for like, similar points haul you have to shoot the more recent as by default we somehow assume that more players and better players and other improvements should really give the more recent guy the edge
On this basis Warburton had in my opinion a very lightweight undergunned side compared to what Hughton has now,
I'm absolutely convinced we would be at the least much further up the table and in a far better situation had we stuck with Warburton, though if we are generally going to lose and not score I would prefer O'Neill and Keane or Stuart Pearce to be on the touch line.
But where we could of been if we'd stuck with Warburton particularly the hideously ridiculous volumes of players, the thing we needed most of all was someone who worked with what he got and signed out of neccessity and planning

CW Yes - definitely. The football sheff united play is excellent - even this year. It would be a change I would back.
We have nothing against CH and there are mitigating factors but bloody hell the crap we are serving up at th moment is horrendous and worse than many we’ve had. OG being top scorer near April is appalling and embarrassing.

Like mot fans of football, in the world, I'd like to see my team attacking more, I'd like to see us braver & more adventurous, but there's only so much polishing you can do to a turd.
It doesn't matter what manager we have here, if we don't have the squad they are going to go safety first & try & to tough it out, the sort of styles people are begging for take time, money & players, & without those thing it doesn't matter what manager you employ, you won't see that style of football, you'll continue to see safety first.
As I said last night, we have no magic wand to wave, we don't have Messi, or Haaland, lolling around in the reserves, ready to come on & change what we are, we have what we have & we are what we are.

i think Jack Robinson, Benny and Ollie Burke are excellent .. maybe squad players but i'd be delighted if we'd picked up players like that .. and kept them

if he is doing a good job wait till he really starts managing the preparation and does some effective game management not mention trying out differant tactical approaches, also players who give everything seem to get injured, i mean if he proactively did anything observable or measureable i would love to agree, i think he is the complete architect of his own demise where we do not look like winning a game for the foreseeable
