I don't Grabban is being singled out in the way you're saying. Simply pointing out he has had a bad season is not suggesting others have done well, its just a comparison from last year.
I would love to see Grabban's xG compared to goals or his shot conversion rate (I couldn't find the stats anywhere). I know sky had some last year that showed him with the second worst in the league behind Bamford. Hard to argue he's missed some absolute sitters this year. Even when Sabri was here, he missed two howlers vs Cardiff was it? And that open goal I think v Rotherham?
He had a fantastic year last year, his goal record alongside some fantastic off the ball work in Sabri's tactics. However under CH he has been unable to offer the same value when he has been asked to play in a 4231 ad he keeps dropping too deep. Even CH said he thought he might be better playing behind another striker the other day

Scratching my head why some have difficulty in admitting that Grabban has not been very good this season. It's not a crime to say it. Are you Grabbans dad Mr. Promisedland? Your defence of him is extreme. It's ok for fans to give a player a bit of criticism you know if they think it's justified.

My worry going forward is if we keep Grabban which it looks like we will he will not be an automatic first choice and all his better performances came when he always picked played every game and became sharp and fit so is there much point keeping him as a bench warmer ? Murray must be let go on his crazy wage and age ! Taylor can stay a squad player for me

I'm confused though you're suggesting we need a good transfer window but also insinuating you'd perhaps like yet another change in manager. That would not only be standing still, it would be going backwards.
I feel like this is the same pointless debate every time we go on a remotely bad run. I'm just going to repeat the same stats over and over.
We can't compete due to parachute payments so we're always going to struggle. The only way to succeed in that scenario is a slow build with a good crop of young players at the same time. I feel like people want that but then they also want to sack CH and bring in Mourinho.
For once let's go into a season with some positivity even if it's slightly fake. Accept we're not a promotion team because we don't have the budget so let's do a slow build and back a manager and be as supportive as possible so the owner doesn't have any more ammunition to make a change.
I’ve been a big supporter of ch since day one and if you read my previous posts you would see that I still am. I’m sorry that you are reading something into the above comments that doesn’t exist, I was just stating facts and asking how far we have come.
It’s no coincidence that two of the promoted teams were the ones relegated last season, and I expect the newly relegated teams from the premiership will be up there next season and realistically leaving all other clubs fighting for reduced promotion spots., maybe even only one.
That doesn’t mean that I want a change of manager as I believe that Ch has the potential to take us upwards and onwards , but I don’t think he will achieve our owners expectations which, I’m guessing is promotion and no excuses and in the 21-22 season.
It’s ok having positivity but temper it with realism. We are not a promotion team, we won’t be next season and then our owner would have run out of patience and the whole cycle will start all over again.
A good transfer window may improve us somewhat but will only delay the inevitable demise of possibly the best manager we’ve had for a while.
Hopefully that removes your confusion.

Sorry, been getting pretty frustrated reading about people wanting to sack yet another manager. It's exhausting.
I don’t think anyone is asking for top of the league or 4 goals a game, unless I’ve missed some posts by PSS :) As I’ve said before, equating criticism of Hughton to that, or to wanting every manager sacked isn’t fair to the posters. You each have your say and at the end of the day you might just agree to disagree. We still all want them to win come 3 o clock.
It shouldn’t be exhausting mate, it really is ok for people to have different opinions!

Only 10% on this forum want him gone. I imagine all of them thought he was the wrong choice initially (I get why the season's performances haven't changed opinions). Is there any real need to come up with a list of manager names that will never be approached?

Someone proven? I don't think Mourinho will come. Someone proven at our level? I don't think we'd get Farke. Someone proven at our level but not recently? We risk getting someone out of touch with the modern game who is living off their CV.
The best bet is an up and coming / foreign manager. Maybe someone early in their career in our lower leagues, but more likely abroad. I watch very little of that football as most do, so hard to put a name to it. There must be a few out there though that would be in our league at this stage of their careers.
Happy to look at someone's wikipedia and make a definitive judgement if anyone else has any ideas though :)
