Not true actually, the foreign window was closed on the 3rd October and he was appointed a few days after. He had around 10 days to sign any new players. We know they got screwed by Grosicki again too.
At this point Grabban was just off the back of a very good season and we had the recently signed and highly rated Taylor.

Well, whatever he did, his motivational Class did not inspire the squad, remind you all, the worst win rate of any manager for a long time.
I critised the squad after that summer window, no hidsight from me, i said we would struggle. Where was is key striker lined up for Janaury?

Grabban, at £6m
Well past is sell by date now, club should have been proactive and sold last summer. You know they couldve bought Toney for just £5m last year, but clubs transfer strategy is bad (dont listen to me), and Hughton thought Murray was the answer in Janaury, mind you his 2 goals against Wycombe probably helped to save us this season, so guess he was right.
No we couldn't have bought Toney because he moved to Brentford who are a better team than us.
Sold last summer, after the back of a season where he scored 20+ goals, the first time any Forest striker had done that in a long time. Leaving us with literally just Taylor, yeah another genius suggestion. I'm sure there are a bunch of other strikers that other teams signed that haven't done as well as Toney too.

With what money? We had Grabban just back from injury at that point too. Also signed Garner, Cafu and Krovinovic which significantly improved the team.
Anyway, since when is that CH's fault?

How many of our managers joined on the back of 100% losing start? Or with our 5/6 best players from the previous season either injured, sold or released?
What possible reason do you have for thinking that sacking him will dramatically change our team? We'll just have another manager that needs time to get to know the squad then brings in a load of new players and we finish in the same position. Also, are you paying his severance package? That's another player we wouldn't be able to sign in exchange I imagine

First of all Hughton probably has one of the best not losing percentage of any recent Forest manager. We have drawn a lot of games but lets over look that.
Also the fee for Toney was 10M with all the add ons so lets not twist things too much.

No mate, I think we should probably just look at Hughton's win % in games we lost, seems fair right? :D (I bet it's 0%)

Look can be positive.
There are obviously issues going forward (which I think can be rectified this summer) buti do think it goes under the radar just how good Forest are defensively now. It isn't always backs-to-the-wall either, it's often a complete nullification of the opposition before they even get to our box. Some more positive defensive stats:
-5th best defence in the league
-Taken the lead 14 times and won 12 of those
-15 clean sheets (more than last season)
-No meaningful goals conceded in injury time (compared to 1 million last season)
-Only one team has scored 3 against us in a game
It's a rock solid foundation. Add in 2-3 good attacking recruitments, lot more pace, creative midfielders, Mighten a year further in his development, Johnson rejuvenated after his loan, a fresh start for Lolley and a full pre-season and I am confident that we can make the improvements required and like i have said at least Hughton knows whats required

there's some good comments, thinking about defensive improvement and solidity coming in off an horrendous losing streak, short confusing summer and catastrophic end to last season
I'm sure Hughton could be the man, i think the managers job involves having fan appeal and explaining what's happening and what's not happening, but this is controversial now, if the manager feels he represents the team performances and momentum and some sort of interface with the fans, maybe this is the problem, i guess there are justifiable arguments that CH has no responsibility to empathise, identify let alone represent the fans feelings and ambitions, this is what makes great managers and working relationships
Now we don't really know if CH officially has a say in transfers and is maybe restrained when talking to the press, if the latter isn't the case he is certainly coming over as lacking enthusiasm, passion and determination, the 'running on empty' is hopefully the wrong opinion but maybe the managers job is so restrained now that is all it is 'a job' which includes compulsory 15 minutes pre and post match interviews which should be terrific opportunities but now are really tedious and basically an exercise in watching someone who looks bored and visionless
My opinion may of been moulded by the managers job description and his official responsibilities, CH's and the clubs meaningful transmission of information and passion and vision needs to improve for me, the 'a differant angle' videos were good though, like all of us i guess it's over expectations and yearning for old fashioned tell it how it is and becoming a bit of a hero type thing from the past

It inspired the squad not to get relegated. They sit 'lower-mid-table.'
And he made some sound signings in January (a difficult window) to make sure that was so. Those signings clearly improved Forest in an attacking sense with a 'modest' return in goals (about what you'd expect from an interim window.)
