The Football Supporters' Federation has praised the introduction of a new Premier League rule that will further increase the matchday experience of away fans.
Clubs have agreed to a new Premier League Rule where away supporters will be seated together at all stadiums and at least one block of away fan seats will be made available pitchside.
"We've lobbied the Premier League for a number of seasons to move more away fans pitchside and we're very pleased they have chosen to do that from 2017," said Football Supporters' Federation chief executive Kevin Miles.
The rule calls for away fans at Premier League stadiums to be located pitchside
"Placing away fans up in the gods may appear to give home teams a competitive advantage, but often in reality this kills the atmosphere for everyone on match day, this is why we've been lobbying for such a rule to be introduced. We're pleased to see this step taken.
"Away fans make a massive contribution to the atmosphere by bringing noise, colour and character to football grounds every weekend - and we want football to make the most of that."
Premier League clubs agreed last season to recognise the special status of away fans by capping the price of away tickets at £30 for the three seasons from 2016/17.

Newcastle will have to make some big changes then if they get relegated

NG3 you are not allowed to go anywhere. I print off your nostalgia posts for the kids to read as i was never part of the golden years nor from nottingham so i missed out much, but i feel it is good to share the history of my club with the young ones from the view of someone there. It makes them smile when they hear some of the cracking stories and past information you provide.

Nottingham Forest can confirm that a memorandum of understanding has been reached with Nottingham Rowing Club and Nottingham & Union Rowing Club in connection with the redevelopment of The City Ground and broader area around the stadium.

I wish safe standing would get accepted and embraced soon, it would make this whole redevelopment thing a lot easier, especially if they filled the 2 trent end corners in for safe standing maybe prior to the main project, I also think the Bridgeford lower could adapt to a large safe standing area
can't help but think they will be planning a casino and/or designer shopping mall and/or hotel for behind the Peter Taylor stand, it's more sensitive and non pc but I think it makes sense if the owners want to get people onto the site when there aren't matches, this corporate thing, I think the demand for corporate stuff is in decline, they can all video conference now

Safe standing has to be allowed by FA / EFL. No point building now if not allowed to use.
Looking at the Trent End, as a non-architect, it looks like it will be difficult to fill the corners due to the way the roof is held up.
Nottingham isn't awash with good corporate facilities, and we are a long way behind offer teams in the amount of cash this area generates.
The good news is that fans are being thought of, in the improvements discussed, both to the new stand and needed improvement to the other stands.
