Is there actually just one where we can say what a great signing he was? I honestly can't think of one. If we sell chema and bring in this arsenal cb is our starting 11 improved? That's more important than football, even at Forest. If this is accurate (and no reason to doubt you) then let him go I say, so long as we dont lose out too much. Our record has been shocking. Why do Forest persist with them..? Chema may have looked classy on the deck. But (against Hull) he just seemed like another 'foreign' player who didn't like it 'up' him. English football is unforgiving in teh Championship. This IS the old 1st Division. When men were men. Tackles go in. It's muck and nettles. You get 'slapped', kicked, elbowed, shoved. It's kick and rush a lot of the time. Playing against the Cardiff's and the Millwalls. And when it's not them it's Hull or Wednesday who have a better blend of players than Forest in many ways. And showed 'us' what we're missing. Chema is an unhappy player. Let him go. If he's missing his family he's not going to play well here. I'd rather let Worrall play who loves his club. Or Dawson. Or Figs' who can cope. Or Benno. He's a nutter but he's a beast of a CH who could be harnessed. I think letting Milo go was a mistake. Genuine talent there and worked great with Benno. But I guess the die is cast. So it is with Chema. SA. If we sell chema and bring in this arsenal cb is our starting 11 improved? Reading up about him. He's aggressive. So that's a plus. He was certainly lauded. But. Is he fit? Can he stay fit? It's another one of Arsenal's injury cases (didn't we buy a 'fit' RB from them?) The lad sounds like a talent. But we had a talented robust CH in Milo who we let go. And so it's come to pass with Chema leaving that earlier statements like, 'We've got plenty of CHs...' no longer seems a sturdy statement. If Dawson gets injured again, we have Benno, Worrall, Figs. And? We could def' do with 'one' robust head it, kick it left sided CH to provide competition for the debacle against Wed'. Where Forest were out headed out fought out paced at CH. SA. RE: Is Our Squad Stronger Or Weaker Than Last Season - Strawberry Avenger - 19-12-2019 I was always perplexed that Wenger didn't replicate the Robust English back line and the Veirra midfield. I guess the artist was a puritan. In the end. They're sure missing him now. :P SA. Hopefully the Coach makes it to January to make the necessary signings... We'll know more after Saturday's result. Forest have got a lot to put right. Forest are desperately missing Sow and Rib'. The former at the heart of Forest's current malaise. No, really, it's been there for a while now. 2 months. SA. Personally I'd sooner leave the missues to change the nappies whilst I banged a load of fresh & went out on the slurp with the lads on new shores, but each to their own. It is another reason not to import players too though. RE: Is Our Squad Stronger Or Weaker Than Last Season - zicorice - 08-07-2020 Just reopening one of the best debates of the early and mid season. Do we know the answer to this yet? Clearly our team is stronger. Samba, Sow and Yuri have been huge upgrades. But the debate around the squad still rages. Whilst Fulham had a bench packed full of proven talent, ours contained a number of players who have been underwhelming when given their chance or young unproven lads for the future. DaCosta does look very promising and Yates unlucky to be rested, especially with the advantage of hindsight seeing how his replacement performed..... So squad stronger or weaker than last season? RE: Is Our Squad Stronger Or Weaker Than Last Season - Salvatore Matrecano - 08-07-2020 Maybe the pertinent question is not stronger or weaker than last season but” is the squad strong enough to get promotion?” Most would agree we started our strongest 11 against Fulham. As back up arguably Yates and DaCosta are of equal quality along with Dawson and Carvalho (if he is ever picked or indeed interested). The rest of them? Not so much. So we have 15 players who are good enough for top 6. That doesnt leave much in reserve if injuries and simple match fitness problems kick in. Man for man a team like Fulham are considerably stronger and probably have a bit more in reserve too. Personally I think we are a bit short.
