RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - wassy04 - 05-01-2026 (05-01-2026, 03:11 PM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote: “Edu’s presence is still proving a contentious issue behind the scenes, even after Nuno’s exit, which some sources claim has placed his role in question.” Is this setting the stall for what you suggested the other day?! Edu out and Nuno comes back! Still very unlikely but just imagine if that actually happened. Not sure how well it would go down. As correctly pointed out his work at Oly and Rio Ave will also be looked at. I keep emphasising his job isnt just transfers although I note Ferreira and Syrianos are no longer listed on the club website (???) My opinion is that everything was either rosey or at least looking positive before he walked through the door, draw your own conclusions. No I dont think there is the tiniest chance of Nuno coming back. Regardless half the problem he has faced at West ham is not having his backroom team, he looks lost without them and it sounds like they wouldnt work for him again after he got them sacked. I was also only joking, but if it was going to happen, this is pretty much step 1... RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Jimmygordon - 05-01-2026 "Give Syrianos FULL control and time to implement his ideas. He's the best footballing brain at the club." Why does he have the best footballing brain at the club? RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - PsychoStooge - 05-01-2026 (05-01-2026, 05:05 PM)Jimmygordon Wrote: "Give Syrianos FULL control and time to implement his ideas. He's the best footballing brain at the club." Personal opinion. Most of the good in recent years has come from him and I believe it would've been even better had he been allowed to run things his way. Marinakis realised he made a mistake getting rid, got him back and promoted him after Wilson went to Newcastle. He's been around for a while now, if you count the two spells, so he also brings some much needed continuity behind the scenes and he isn't gonna base recruitment on what agents tell him to do either. He's certainly the type I'd like to see running the footballing side of the club, but I think he needs full trust and autonomy to do it properly. All things considered I don't even blame him for that. He was right to treat pre-seaon friendlies with such contempt and no respect. He was right too completely ignore many of our new signings and not even talk to them. He was right to manipulate the club by signing a 3 year contract and then engineering the sack despite EM bending over backwards to keep him What a lovely man. I could go on but I won't.
