RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Mcforest - 29-07-2021 Not keen to see him off just get bored watching any of his teams and anytime he has tried to make his teams more dynamic shall we say they nose dive because that’s not the way he coaches or mind set. That said for now i would take us being hard to be beat and play not to lose rather than to win if it means we have the foundations to build on in later years with a team of players who are able to move us up levels. For now and the situation we are in and the player types we have he is probably the best we are going to get. Only way we can become a more pressing, possession based team over night is to spend crazy money we don’t have. It is going to take a long time to move that direction but first we need to have that pragmatic base to start from and CH can give us that. I just cant understand it. Seems completely fair to compare his record to the most over-achieving manager in the league as opposed to the average performances by other similar placed clubs. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Widdow - 29-07-2021 Well let’s see how he starts the season and be interesting to see he changes my mind or if more others feel the same as me. I do hope it’s me that has my mind changed and CH can get the best out of the team and starts the season well. Ok how does it compare to points earned as that isn’t good either RE: Your Thoughts On the Current Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 29-07-2021 (29-07-2021, 12:37 PM)Widdow Wrote:(29-07-2021, 12:24 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(29-07-2021, 12:22 PM)Widdow Wrote:(29-07-2021, 12:11 PM)wassy04 Wrote:(29-07-2021, 11:53 AM)Widdow Wrote: As i have said before a win rate of 28% wasn't promising last season (he had the whole season bar 4 games) after just missing out on top 6 the year before Again I don't know as you're the one complaining not me! I'm content with CH RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - TheGreenMan - 29-07-2021 Surely the fans who think Hughton’s the best thing since Brian Clough must agree he’s got to change his approach. Playing not to loose is not the way forward, I’m certainly not asking for Kevin Keegan kamikaze reckless attacking football, but we need to take the game to opposition a hell of a lot more. I’ve currently got almost zero enthusiasm for the upcoming season, mainly because of Hughton’s style, lack of transfers, Ryan Yates and the kneeling bull shit. At the minute I think we’re in for a relegation scrap. Well anything higher would obviously be overachieving. I don't think anyone thinks that he's reached that level. There is a middle ground between Clough and Megson you know... Yes it would be nice to loosen up a bit, that comes from winning more games. Maybe just give him a chance, I don't get this desperation for us to fail before we've even started. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - tugger2018 - 30-07-2021 I am sure Hughton is not happy with the situation currently he has lost at least 5 players he picked in his first 11 team last season over the players he currently has and he is not in charge of choosing the players he wants to bring in anymore Not an ideal situation to be in RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Marinakis Red - 30-07-2021 (30-07-2021, 06:02 PM)tugger2018 Wrote: I am sure Hughton is not happy with the situation currently Modern day football mate, the club is bigger than Chris Hughton. Were certainly not the only club like it, far from it, you have to protect your football club long term. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - SSM - 30-07-2021 I'll be amazed if Hughton lasts the season. I think his approach and Murphy's ideals are totally at odds. With the shift in thinking at Forest this summer, Hughton very much looks like the odd man out. Be interesting to see what he makes of the type of players we're being linked to and seemingly targeting. If he had it his way I suspect we'd see a lot more 'experienced' professionals and a lot less young lads striving to make their name. He is obviously a thoroughly respected bloke, well liked in the game and I think he will always have relative success in his perfered style. Is it for the betterment of the club? Not convinced it is. Brighton cut ties when they moved to the more forward thinking dynamic in football. That said, there is a fine balancing act right now. We're coming off the back of a very poor season. We've got 2/3 gaping holes in the squad we really need to fill and we're probably a slightly vulnerable team at the minute. So Hughton will perhaps be the right man to start the season and see us through what might be a difficult start to the season. This year is definitely about stability when implementing change. He may not enjoy it, but it might work out quite well for us in the long term, whilst Murphy and co put the pieces in place to truly shape the changing dynamic of the club. My biggest hope (fear?) is that Murphy is truly backed to implement the change needed and be supported in his decisions. From what he has achieved in his short time in the game, in combination with what he says he wants, i'm excited. I hope Marinakis and co give him the time and tools needed to make it work. |
