RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - JollyLollyAussie - 19-02-2026 So if Edu is indeed sacked what was the point of all this shit this season, only at Forest! I am of the opinion that he will walk before being pushed which might be the best for EM, Edu and the club saving face. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - DeesideRed - 19-02-2026 (19-02-2026, 10:31 AM)Fumanchew Wrote: All seems very weird this vilifying of someone the majority have no idea of the level of input of him. All this edu not getting deals done in January, all of edus players are S**t, I thought edu was the strategy man at EMs clubs to push them in the right directions on all matters of football in the next 5/10/15 years the fact that there’s so much scrutiny of his apparent failings at Forest is bizarre I think it comes down to timing. All was rosey in the garden until he was brought in. Plenty to suggest he has been the causal factor. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 19-02-2026 The article may be nonsense anyway. The “ sources within the club” is likely to be Randall shooting his mouth off to the media again. Loves a sacking rumour does Randall. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Paplane - 19-02-2026 Its because of Edu that we have the expensive signings of last summer, which have pretty much all proved to be disastrous. They may well come good in the long term but this season we needed decent experienced players, not players finding their way into the game at the top level. In other words, Edu's been buying for the long term, but the team needed proven quality short term, to enable the squad to perform in two competitions. So there's a disconnect there. A massive hole in the strategy. And as Edu's responsible for the strategy it's on him. It seems that Dyche wanted prem ready experience in in January, players like Dunk and Matetta. He was handed Lucca (who failed at his last club) and Netz who is a youngster. Neither have played abroad before. It was pathetic. The guy needs to go. He's trying to build a slow-burner project, like he did at Arsenal. Do that at a club like ours and we get relegated. Could having 4 managers have something to do with most of the players underperforming was it edus decision to omit omari from the Europa squad? We have no idea how our wingers would have performed if Chris wood hadn’t been injured nearly all season, we saw the impact omari made in the Leeds game before being told to just get to the byline and cross it what’s happened on the pitch isn’t edus fault RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Marinakis Red - 19-02-2026 (19-02-2026, 11:12 AM)Paplane Wrote: Its because of Edu that we have the expensive signings of last summer, which have pretty much all proved to be disastrous. I still think it's far too simplistic to lay all the blame at Edu's door. If he was told to have a slow-burner approach then he should have advised the owner that the team needed players for the here and now too. He has, afterall, been brought in for his football knowledge and experience. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Sausage Roll - 19-02-2026 We had players for the here and now. They finished 7th last season and only one of them left. Did he sleep with your wife or something? I just don't get the almost irrational need to blame everything on him. He's hardly a player like Strand Larson or Matetta, who have a demonstrable ability to perform in the prem. Except Mateta and Dunk didn't want to come to Forest and we don't know whether JSL would've preferred us over Palace in the end if we had been interested. A massive hole in the strategy. And as Edu's responsible for the strategy it's on him. So is it all on the manager's then? Does the one constant, the Sporting Director, not have to take any responsibility then? The power base in football clubs has moved considerably in the last 10 years. It's sporting directors that hold the balance of power, not the manager, or rather 'coaches' as they now are. Edu failed to deliver what Nuno wanted. He's failed to deliver what Dyche wanted. It's on him. |
