RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 02-08-2021 . The anti CH brigade are out tonight then. You can't criticise him for signings that didn't happen and not credit him for signings that did happen, that's ridiculous. Not worth having the same arguments over and over, let's hope he shuts you guys up by making us competitive again. It would be really convenient if we did start well too, just to keep the likes of you lot quiet. Better than what else we had. i'm only curious about Forest now, probably because of last season, when you care things matter but now i'm just curious, anything more would be bad for my mental health, but last season was so poor, but people who know stuff have faith in him in which case i'm curious and that's it. The bottom line for me is if we are going to be mediocre i would prefer Pearce or O'Neill on the touch line but then i would care and that's when the problems start, so maybe Hughton is a good fit at a club that don't seem to care and helps me not care as well. We just seem worse prepared for this season than last season, or put it another way we've wasted more time already, unless of course CH steps up, i give him 6 games, we'll amass maybe 4 points, but most important i don't care anymore. Should have just done it at the end of last season….Now we’ve got to endure more crap, unimaginative, try not to concede first football… RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Madforit - 02-08-2021 (02-08-2021, 07:58 PM)TheGreenMan Wrote:(02-08-2021, 07:32 PM)stirred Wrote: Mighten was getting regular minutes, and had just had his first start, before Hughton arrived, and had looked decent. I don't look at pro or anti Hughton. But the whole club needs to be on the same page. There needs to be a collective movement. Every single decision needs to be made with the focus of the club's identity at the heart of the decision. With the appointments of Murphy, Syrianos, Brass & Brazil's greater involvement there is obviously a deliberate intention to shift the dynamic at the club. I totally support and endorse this. I think Murphy's ethos is entirely in line with what modern football demands. What I see is all of those appointments and then a manager which just doesn't align with it. Hughton is an old school manager. Hard to beat, organised, structured and reliable. He doesn't like risks, he doesn't want to take chances on people he doesn't know can do it. He wants pedigree. The others above him are totally at odds with that notion. I just don't see how it can profit the club. Mighten scored a goal, got criticised by Hughton post match and then dropped. He doesn't like using youth. He gave Brighton academy grads something like 16 minutes in his whole time there. We can't keep going for these 'proven' players. If it was down to Hughton he'd have more Knockaert's. We need more Mighten's. It's the way the game is going and we're already miles behind, we need to catch up. It's not going to end well here for Hughton, the writing is absolutely on the wall. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - ozzyten10 - 02-08-2021 I disagree. He is adaptable and that is misleading regarding Brighton academy. Lewis dunk, dale stephens became established under him - he built a promotion winning side on a budget within ffp and he did wonders at Newcastle and Birmingham City. I think last year was awful and I understand peoples views on that evidence. Hughton has been instrumental in the restructuring- I wouldn’t be surprised if he stayed on as a DOF after this year with Reid or Trollope stepping up. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - ozzyten10 - 02-08-2021 Brighton were also restructuring their academy and their recruitment was ‘money ball’ model much like Brentford - RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 02-08-2021 (02-08-2021, 08:38 PM)SSM Wrote:(02-08-2021, 08:30 PM)ozzyten10 Wrote: I am surprised there are so many anti CH on here. So much of this is criticising him for either stuff that happened elsewhere or things that haven't even happened yet. Mighten still got plenty of minutes, along with Yates and Garner. Soh has done nothing to suggest he should've played more aside from Figs being a bit rubbish. Maybe, give the bloke a chance. Perhaps with Murphy's influence combined with CH man management, reputation and knowledge the combination could be ideal. Hopefully Murphy brings the best out of him. I suspect if CH does well this year it'll be down to Murphy though and if he does badly it'll be because of CH. Better than what else we had. I'm pretty neutral on Hughton, but how old was his signing James Garner? Or Will Swan who he gave his debut to? Carvalho's played most pre-season games so far, and then you've the likes of Gabriel, Fernandes, Richardson, Konate, Fornah all given chances to impress in pre-season too. That doesn't strike me as someone who doesn't want to use young players. But i'm sensing tears from CH. Not gonna work. |
