RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - wassy04 - 19-02-2026 I think there is a lot of revisionist talk with regards to our summer business personally. We knew coming in to the summer we needed basically a second XI to cover for European games. We lost Elanga, and spent 30-40m three times in an attempt to replace him, should we have spent 60m on his equivalent? Could we even get anyone better than the level of the guys we went for? Otherwise, lack of full back cover was a mistake but otherwise we covered all bases. We got experience in Luiz to cover a position where we maybe were a little short. What other positions did we need experience at? Who are you taking out of that team at the time? Jesus/Kalimuendo/Wood seemed like a strong front 3. Young players particularly from abroad take time to adapt. So which players or type of player should we have been signing in the summer? They may well come good in the long term but this season we needed decent experienced players, not players finding their way into the game at the top level. In other words, Edu's been buying for the long term, but the team needed proven quality short term, to enable the squad to perform in two competitions. So there's a disconnect there. A massive hole in the strategy. And as Edu's responsible for the strategy it's on him. There's a lot we don't know Wassy. My opinion is based on what I see in front of me. £200m odd worth of player signings who are nowhere near the level of slotting into a prem football side. They may well come good in the future, but we'll be in the Championship then. And within weeks of Edu's arrival, the most successful coach we've had in 25 years is out the door and now working against us to send us down. Give me something positive this guy has achieved? Not sure Mendez would have much to do with us with Edu calling the shots. EM might be clearing the decks so that he has a chance of landing Silva in the Summer. The one you’re referring to is no better. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - JohnG - 19-02-2026 The fact that the air people are getting varies from person to person, would that suggest we're having a bit of a power struggle behind the scenes? Nuno vs Edu seemed like that and it has continued since. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 19-02-2026 This seems like a knee jerk reaction to me. Just a coincidence that Olympiakos have been knocked off the top of the table in Greece and also got mullered in the champions league last night? RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - nffc93 - 19-02-2026 It's all rather embarrassing at a time when we can do without it. It's a fair point that while we're discussing Forest, Oly and Rio Ave are also under Edu's wings so he would need to be judged on those too. RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Widdow - 19-02-2026 Dont have to sack Edu. Just move him in from Forest to look after Rio Ave. I am sure he also came in on the basis acquiring a Brazilian outfit, which has yet to happen. Then let Edu resign if not happy looking after the team in Portugal rather than pay him off.
