RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Marinakis Red - 19-08-2021 I think it is nearly time to call last orders lads. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Madforit - 19-08-2021 Never mind last orders, I'd hope that they tell him not to hang his coat up this morning. Last year Barnsley were a worse squad than us, getting beat week in, week out, murphy brought in a unknown guy, got them playing good attacking football, and look where they finished, some called it over achieving, even tho this achieving football has wba playing out of there skin for him, I trust murpy to find use someone like him, to at least get us believing in the game again, fingers crossed we sort this sooner than later A bit like Sabri a couple of years back? Barnsley played long ball and set piece football and fair play to them for their deserved success. But I seem to remember they had half decent energetic full backs and no Figs in defence.(sorry to dig out an individual in cold blood). He's given interviews stating he was specifically looking for that type of coach, and stated his preference for someone who played gegenpressen and who had good leadership skills were the main reasons he wanted him. “We are continually looking at head coaches who implement the pressing model, the gegenpressing, German high-press, create as many chances as possible, and last season Valerien was second in all of Europe, at LASK,” Murphy said." On being appointed, Islmael himself said..."I would like to thank Paul Conway and Dane Murphy for the open and productive dialogue that we've had up to this point, and for the great chance that they have given me to manage in English football as the coach of Barnsley FC." However, he would get slaughtered as we don't even slightly have the players to do it. We'd need to sign another 5-10 minimum to implement this approach. It would still be a case of recruitment playing catch up with that 'nice idea but...' Would he have the players available to play such a thing? It's one thing doing that at Barnie who have been playing to that tune long before he rocked up and WBA who have just come down from the Premier. SA.
