A first-half hat-trick from Brennan Johnson ensured Nottingham Forest Under 23s finished the season on a high as they beat table-toppers Ipswich Town 4-1 at Portman Road.
Will Swan's goal in his first start for the Under 23s also helped make it four wins from their final four games as they ended the 2018-19 campaign in style in the Professional Development League.
Forest: Shelvey, Richardson, Spooner, Taylor, Lawrence-Gabriel, Stewart, Johnson, Fornah (Asare 87'), En-Neyah, Hayes (Barnes 76'), Swan (Sodeinde 67')
Subs not used: Wright, Mutoti.

Brennan Johnson’s impressive form for Nottingham Forest Under-23s this season has caught the eye of first-team boss Martin O’Neill.
And the Reds manager hopes to be able to include the teenage attacking midfielder in his pre-season preparations this summer.
“He’s been over training with us for a few days and has been doing exceptionally well. He’s a nice young man,” said O’Neill, when asked if Johnson might be in his thoughts.
“He’s definitely a player with really decent talent.
“He would be coming with us pre-season anyway, with a little bit of luck.
“He definitely has talent and looks as if he’s got a decent future ahead of him.”

We have taken a couple of young lads on trial from Greek side Atromitos.
2 midfielders Fotis Pikoulas and Grigoris Pietris.

I wouldn't say great, Average season, and with quality of players can say a wee underwhelming but ending with 4 wins really got us to mid table just ahead of Bolton on goal difference, so could have looked so much worse.
We have a exciting prospect in James Clarridge who captained England U15 last week - they have high hopes for him but needs to work hard

I seemed to stare at the table(s) … 'group A' and 'group B', seems Forest result was against a group B side, so really do not understand how those leagues actually work, i'm frazzled to be honest, far to excited about things than what is good for oneself but hey, I love the preparations generally starting now, maybe a few weeks ago, just hoping a lot of good decisions are made for a huge amount of players

Olympiakos and Forest are co-operating at Academy level, the two clubs will will be preparing together for 14 days. They will play friendly games against eachother and they will have the opportunity to have closer co-operation between them in the future.
Gary Brazil will have an important roll to play working alongside Cristian Karembe and Francois Modesto.

Collaboration between two clubs seems a good idea.
But it is the assumption that what is successful in Greece is successful in the Championship and vice versa that causes problems.
