I'd be concerned. But I'd still give him until after the International Break to start making progress. But he has yet to make a permanent outfield signing last Summer or this Summer. Has any other Forest manager been that badly backed? What's the new CEO doing about that? (And if it IS going to be a relegation season because Forest have a rookie CEO, the person you DO want is Hughton. He'd be a safe pair of hands whilst Dane...pulls his finger out.) SA. He had his knockaert and Murray too, players he wanted. We were awful. Knoackert was absolutely god awful too. Contributed more to opposition teams goals than our own. We were left scrabbling around in January. The ones we did bring in DID make enough (Garner and Krov' linking the back to the front of the team) of an impact to keep Forest up. Even Murray got a brace that gave Forest 3 points. Keeping in mind we only avoided relegation by 8 points? Had Forest brought in a striker last year with fresh legs, things might have been very different. Still waiting on that striker though. Attritional football is what you get when you don't recruit well. The team basically becomes a punching bag. Until we get the promised recruitment (Dane said 9 players himself?) then it doesn't matter what Hughton tries. He's damned. At least we have the progressive Garner. And we should see a very different type of Forest against Wolves with Fornah probably playing alongside him. *Fingers crossed, eh? SA. Hughton got the striker he wanted. Glenn Murray. The football is dire mate but if it is what you enjoy who am I to argue. But stop banging the outfield drum. You have said it on every post for about a week and it really is getting tedious. I don't blame them not letting him get permanent signings. He wanted Dan Golsing, before Harry Arter had his biggest contribution at Forest and told him not to come here. We got Garner despite him not because of him. Or maybe it was because of him - why did Arter tell Gosling not to come?! Anyway, he has to go and we all know it. Maybe it would work best if we give him the push before Derby but don’t have the new guy in place yet - or one of those where he is appointed the day before but sits in the stands and lets a caretaker do the match ‘until he’s had chance to meet the players’ to save the possibility of starting with a bad derby. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 23-08-2021 Serious question. Did Arter put Gosling off us or is it just an unfounded twitter rumour? First half he gave up a dangerous free-kick on the edge of our box. Made a horror tackle and got booked, and got megged in the middle of the park. Other than that, he's passed backwards a lot. Larsson and McAdam done well. Some tenacity from McDonnell who's gone off for Fewster. Lots of running from Salmon, but should have scored. Gibson-Hammond really keen to get forward, probably been a little wasteful in possession, however.
