We paid 7 figures to loan Knockaert and Christie.
he tried to sign Dan Gosling on a multiyear deal.
If we give this man who he wants, it will set us back another 5 years.
Thank god Dane won't do it.
Murray was temporary. A band aid. And he did get a brace of goals that got Forest 3 points of the 8 points they ended clear of the drop. That is clutching at straws, that one. The only permanent outfield signing is Cafu. Did Chris bring him in? (And he was converted from a loan.)
Knocker and Christie weren't permanent. They're not here. Yet we're still waiting for a winger and a RB. (A fit one.)
We didn't get Gosling. We did get Garner. Not permanent. He did well. (So Hughton set us back 5 years with him and Krov'?). He wasn't here for the start of the season either.
Give Hughton what he wants? He hasn't got any permanent players. He hasn't had what he wants at all. Players brought in to start the season.
And it's on the CEO.
Thank God for Dane eh? Starting the season without fullbacks is incompetent.

Bizarrely, if we had the chance to sign last years Murray this year on a short term deal I'd do it in a flash. I think his signing very much helped keep us up.
If we'd have had wide players who could cross, he'd have bagged more too. We're desperate for a player with his qualities, just younger.

If he was in the team now, teams would sweat more. I know he's ancient in footballing terms. But when you have a big lad in the box, it unsettles defences.
And if anything, discussion of him shows what Forest should have factory installed for the start of this season. A young target man. It's cost us.
He was also poorly served by wide players last season. Lolley was in a malaise. Mighten a rookie. Only the erratic and flawed gem of Knocker. I miss the latter already. But not for the money he was on.
I don't understand why we didn't keep some of last year's players on a short=term deal. Many football realities don't work out that way. We let LB, RBs, 2 Wingers and an ACM go and didn't replace them. (Unless you count the unfit lad that arrived at RB.)

I would say criticise him for his negative tactics, lack of subs, at times odd team selections (last season) and underuse of mighten/soh last year.
Don't criticise him for things that are clearly not in his control eg not having a left back, injuries at CB and right back, bong's existence, lack of decent strikers. He isn't in charge of transfers ffs, let it go.
He's probably gonna get sacked soon and this sorry merry go round will start up again. Until then probably should just back the team for this weekend

Every club he’s been at have said the same about style of play and subs. I don’t expect that to change. We just might get a few more draws with more players in.
Still puzzles me why we are not allowed to criticise CH even though he’s been here 50 games. But can criticise Dane who’s been here 2 minutes.
If you want to blame recruitment that started a long time before dane came here.

Except this time last year you were constantly waxing lyrical about how brilliant our transfer business had been last summer and how brilliant the squad was and that Hughton would certainly take us up with it.
I feel sorry for CH this season and genuinely dont think anyone could do better right now but I didnt see enough of an improvement with what he had last year to convince me there are great things to come with him.
Except there are still no permanent signings for Hughton.

What team of 11 players did Hughton have 'of his' last year that he signed on for the poison chalice?

Had to wait until the January window to band aid last Summer's dart board recruitment. He brought in? Murray. Garner. Krov'. Mere patchwork for the recruitment problems Forest made for themselves previously when Hughton wasn't here.
None of whom were permanent (and Garner and Krov' going back has proven damaging to the team because we're weaker without them and it's shown in the start to the season.)
Still waiting on that striker.
Hardly sets up any manager for free flowing football.

Like I said earlier it would be good if we stopped the blame game and we concentrated on something more positive.

He could have had a left back.
We've loaned out Ioannou.
He had nearly twelve months to convince Yuri that he was the manager that would get the best out of him and make him a Premier League player.
He's brought Bong in out of the cold previously ahead of Blackett and Ribeiro so clearly has some belief in him.

If the team performs the same after we have had the minimum of 4 further incomings then Hughton will be culpable- and he deserves a few games to show that. The minimum requirement though will be a more expansive approach…

That's fine by me. I find your negativity re: Hughton repetitive. :) There are several threads about Hughton. This manager. The next manager. Tactics. The match day threads etc. If the team doesn't win it just compounds the negativity. If he'd brought in 14 players of his own and he'd lost 4 straight games I'd be concerned, of course. But I'd still give him time to gel the players.
He's brought in 1 outfield (fit player) signing that's played in the four games. Hardly an embarrassment of riches.
