So the rumour from the ground. Hughton won’t walk and his contract is worth £2.5M plus back room team makes it over £3M. To bring in a new guy plus their staff total cost is probably £5M which we can’t afford.

Paying managers off doesn't count towards FFP and the like does it?

I dont know mate, it is chinese whispers but wouldnt be surprised if some truth, we have wasted millions over the years on paying off mangers, Davies being the biggest shocker, 5 year deal wasnt it?
For example Potter is on only £1M a year but he has signed a renewed contract plus it will be heavily incentivised. For Hughtons experience we probably arent far off, maybe thats the figure for his 2 year contract at best. You have to factor in backroom teams too they arent free. Then you have to pay the new bloke, it is a significant hit.

Felt for him today. Said post match he was encouraging players to go for the second goals and they lacked confidence.
Sorry, but he has been royally screwed. Whoever manages us has a mammoth task on their hands to keep us up.
The squad isn't totally shit, but it is lacking so many core fundamental attributes that it is vulnerable as hell.
