Wassy04, I mentioned before that 3-5 million is not remotely near the amount of a pay-out to sack CH, he has less then 10 months on his contract left, your numbers would indicate that he is on around £100K a week! I would hazard a guess at £20K per week max, therefore any potential pay-out would be LESS then a million. It would also NOT be paid in a lump sum and if by chance it was that figure would be reduced, also if CH find alternative employment in the next few months then the figure could be reduce to even lower numbers. No excuse not to sack the man based on any pay-off!

There's also a reasonable argument that paying out 3-5m to sack a manager when we're walking on an FFP tightrope doesn't make great sense.
I don't think managerial dismissals & payouts count towards FFP?

Ha I was just going off some randomly quoted figures from before, you're right though if he has less than a year it wouldn't be as much. Although don't forget it would likely be his backroom staff too.
Also, it would be a lump sum payment, that's how it works when you terminate someone's contract you pay them what they're owed. Him getting another job has no impact on any compensation package. (also I doubt he'll walk into another job anyway!)
Arguably wouldn't make much difference FFP wise thinking about it as we will have to pay his wages for this year whether he's here or not. The only cost in FFP terms would be however much we spent on a new manager.

I suspect the £2.5M I quoted yesterday is probably the worth of his 2 year contract of which we will already have paid out a year, we will have to pay the remainder if we sack him plus pay off his back room staff Trollope Reid etc, total outlay on them will be at least £3M, that is slightly different to the cost of sacking him.
Then you have to bring in the new guy, tke on his contract, bring in his backroom team, possible comp to his previous employers etc. You are probably looking at another £2M hit this financial year.
Add in the fact we have had to pay off 4 different managers plus their staff in 4 years under EM and you are looking at a lot of money. Whether we would have been better off keeping that money and sticking with the first manager they chose I will leave you to decide.

I think all these conspiracies are getting out of hand on here. You never hear of any when things are going well.
If CH is still in a job after tomorrow there's every chance it will be because the board believe in him and they want to give him time with the new players. Or, if they don't believe in him they'll sack him. It's as simple as that in my book.

There's gonna be no sacking while dane is in USA surely , fair enough he was at the game Saturday, but his wedding is in 3 days, surely he will be over there now sorting out the final stuff and will he on holiday from work

I don't see how anyone can perform at their best when failure is rewarded by a bumper lump sum payout. It may not be a deliberate attempt to lose games of course but sport is about fine margins and reduced motivation to succeed cannot be positive. Someone like Terry would have motivation perhaps as he has to prove himself as a manager.

I could happen. He could sack CH over the phone, or Vrentzos could do it. If you're the CEO of an entity the size of Forest then you cant just disappear. I cant go any on holiday without my laptop and mobile.

Only 10 months on his contract left, we were poised to spend millions on a striker in the transfer window.
I would imagine the cost for him and his staff would equate to 30-40k a week max. And that wouldn’t be paid as a lump sum as he would be on gardening leave.

I'd love to see a total of money we have blown on players who didn't contribute much/anything for us (Carvalho, Da Costa, Soudani, Jenks etc.) and how much that adds up with the sacking too.
For someone who's meant to be about finances, Vrentzos has made some crazy decisions.
