RE: Benjamin Brereton - GaribaldiRED - 07-08-2018 What did we really expect from Brereton last season? I thought he performed well in a team that focused very much on getting the defensive side of the game in place (second half). He's only 18 so you have to expect that he will have some days where he's not preforming as well as we know he can. But overall I believe Brereton has shown that he's more than capable to be a top, top Championship striker in the next couple of years. I also believe he will be able to take the step up to the Premier League as well and hopefully with us. He's a kid with bags of potential. He's strong on the ball, he's fast with great acceleration, he can be very direct and is good on the ball, he's mobile and has a good shot, he's clearly a goal scorer and he has got a strong mentality. What more can you ask for? RE: Benjamin Brereton - Strawberry Avenger - 07-08-2018 (07-08-2018, 05:11 PM)GaribaldiRED Wrote: What did we really expect from Brereton last season? RE: Benjamin Brereton - Jasper Scarrott - 10-08-2018 What an insult and a joke of an offer from Blackburn yesterday for our Benny. 5M, that wouldn't buy his boot laces. So much potential and so much more to come from him. RE: Benjamin Brereton - Paplane - 10-08-2018 Agree but I think he's really going to struggle to get on the pitch this year for us. RE: Benjamin Brereton - Username - 10-08-2018 5m seems a bit right, particularly if he were valued by Liverpool at 10m last time. His value has only gone one way since. RE: Benjamin Brereton - RedMW - 10-08-2018 With a lack of game time this season for him (he’s not even made the bench yet has he?) I hope another championship club take a punt on him and help develop him into the striker we all expect him to be! RE: Benjamin Brereton - GaribaldiRED - 10-08-2018 He will get enough chances this season. It's still 44 games left plus cup games so don't you worry. RE: Benjamin Brereton - Dog and Bear - 17-08-2018 Is it possible that Ben Brereton is disappointed and has perhaps asked to leave the club after being pushed back so far down the pecking order? Just a thought... RE: Benjamin Brereton - ThePromisedLand - 17-08-2018 Could be right - something’s driving it... RE: Benjamin Brereton - Squarered - 17-08-2018 Wasn't Brereton left out at the start of last season after returning from the Euros? He has had another Euro campaign and missed pre-seaon training camps plus has a lot more competition for his place. I did expect him in the squad for Bury but maybe too soon for him? Sure he'll figure this season. We definitely shouldn't be selling some of our best young talent, especially not to lesser clubs in our own league. RE: Benjamin Brereton - Kylos247 - 17-08-2018 Id like to see him in league one fighting promotion for a year. The problem we might have at the end of the season, if we got promoted he more than likely won't be ready for prem, so another year on loan fighting promotion in champ? I'm very intrigued towards bb and his progression I think he's going to be a future England star. RE: Benjamin Brereton - Madforit - 17-08-2018 I'd sooner see Murphy leave than Brereton, for me Murphy is done and is just taking up a space within the team that should be given to Brereton. Brereton is an up and coming quality player that will thrive in this team, he should be on the team sheet every week, I honestly cannot see why Karanka is keeping faith with a player that just doesn't seem interested or bothered, personally I think Brereton offers more than Murphy. Big mistake letting Brereton leave and keeping Murphy, not unless he is just going to allow him to leave on loan only to gain game time. |
