Looks like you were right GE. He is not getting a sniff and I am sure he will leave in January or in the summer. RE: The Olympiacos Signings - the jock - 16-11-2018 pretty much the norm for every olympiacos player we have signed so far. RE: The Olympiacos Signings - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 16-11-2018 That Daniel Podence is no better from what I have seen. I would like to know who places such high valuations on some of these Portuguese players. RE: The Olympiacos Signings - the jock - 16-11-2018 the highest fee paid for ryan mendes during his career was 2.7 million. no way dias /goncalves are any better than him currently. RE: The Olympiacos Signings - Salvatore Matrecano - 16-11-2018 Mendes was a useless player though Jock, I will always think of him scuffing his shot from 2 yards out in front of the Trent End, was that one actually vs Derby? I take your point about Dias and Goncalves but I think both are better players if nowhere near their ridiculous valuations. Goncalves though I suspect will always be too lightweight to cut it in English football. Dias is a bit of an enigma, the talent is there, he has skill and pace and also a bit of physicality, he also works damn hard so willing to stick with him. I suspect you will point to his lack of goals and assists though and you are correct, his decision making on the ball leaves a lot to be desired. Tachtsidis, that was just a weird signing. RE: The Olympiacos Signings - the jock - 16-11-2018 I agree mate Mendes was crap he was so wasteful but he had 6 assists in 32 league appearances for a dour Dougie Freedman team. Dias has zero assists or goals in the league in 15 appearances. He got a goal in the cup against Newcastle but for 80 mins of that game he was shocking. He just offers no threat can't beat a man on the outside and goncalves can't even get in the squad now what hope does he have if we sign a few in January. RE: The Olympiacos Signings - ac_vodka - 16-11-2018 IMHO its why Dowling left - lot of money - not much quality. Adjustment periods are over. We made money on Kapino and we will make money on Tachtisidis, that's why we do it. They are not costing us a lot of money, they are making us money. Dowling was like an employer for Vrentzos. He left because he wanted more power and more say in things. Dowling was just a gopher for Vrentzos which is why he left. |
