RE: The Next 6 Games - the jock - 15-09-2018 I never got lost in the hype. We are a very very average side . To be discussing AK's departure is bad enough but some of the suggestions on who ought to replace him are laughable. Moyes? Done nothing, Psycho, as much as I love him hes a shit manager, Dyche, has anyone watched his side play? At the end of last season, if anyone had asked what would satisfy you next season most would have jumped at the chance of mid table. We were crap. Absolutely awful. Relegation fodder season after season. I cant imagine the difficulties that face a manager to turn things round. The turnoever of players in the last two windows have shown what Karanka thought of them and to change the mindset and attitude of those who werent culled can not be a quick job. Even the great Brian Clough didnt change it all in one close season. We are improving, we are better than last season and will go on improving. We need consistancy not just on the field of play but in the structure of the club. All the players are happy and talk of the buzz around the club and the expecatation. FFS, just sit tight for a bit longer because we have winners at the club now. Marinakis just doesnt fail and Karanka has a past record of improving a club. The thought of starting again with a new manager fills me with dread. New set of new players, start again from zero and another wasted season. I would wager that we will finish top ten at least this season because this team is going to click sooner or later and when it does, itll be brilliant because we have had glimpses of it already. RE: The Next 6 Games - Kylos247 - 16-09-2018 I don't think anyone wants ak to go, more a case the results aren't working so it's likely he will go if things don't pick up. However after yesterday's efforts much improved from brentford. Agreed...it is a result based buisness....and for the money spent we r not getting the return...I want us to be up there head head with Leeds....as i have been saying often...this gelling excuse is just that an excuse...these days managers all over the world dont have that luxury...or hit the ground running or you are out... Thats the way football works these days. Marinakis has sacked one manger in his short ownership already without explanation. He has a history of sacking managers in Greece too. I can see nothing wrong in debating who might be the next manager. Doesnt mean I want the current incumbent gone. Far from it. I agree we could well go on a long winning run and rhings could look very different. Just hope the owner can see it too. RE: The Next 6 Games - woody - 16-09-2018 Of course there's nothing wrong with a good discussion but when people are advocating change then they must have a plan for improvement. If they havent got that then there's no point in changing. Some of the names being bandied around are not even worth laughing at. So give me a name of someone who will come to the CG and do a better job? How many more managers are we going to try before some one says that constant change isnt good. The money, time and effort we've wasted through changing again and again is a joke. Any potential manager must look at NFFC Plc as a Managers Graveyard when they come in and arent given time to see the fruits of their labours. But it starts before that when we are selecting managers. we have to get that right and I cringe when I think of some of the useless managers we've employed since Clough. A few games into the season is far too early to be sacking anyone. Let him bed this set of players in. Christmas might be a better time to judge. A few wins could change so much. RE: The Next 6 Games - JC21 - 16-09-2018 But that's only your opinion, Woody, just like everyone else is entitled to theirs RE: The Next 6 Games - Strawberry Avenger - 16-09-2018 (16-09-2018, 07:54 AM)woody Wrote: Jesus Christ, the comments in here are quite unbelievable. RE: The Next 6 Games - Duncan Mckenzie - 16-09-2018 Lets keep things into perspective. There are over 5000 posts on this forest section of the forum and ONE person mentioned Moyes and Pearce. ONE! Nobody is calling for Karanka to be sacked unless I have missed something? Again, lets keep it in perspective. It seems that most of us, me included, are looking at it from our owners point of view not necessarily from our own points of view. We all know that Marinakis is not known for sticking with managers if results are poor. Hence the discussion. RE: The Next 6 Games - ThePromisedLand - 16-09-2018 And hence a balanced debate in which all opinions are valid... RE: The Next 6 Games - Sunny - 16-09-2018 After bringing in a squad of technical players in the summer it would be folly to then bring in a manager who plays outdated route one football like those mentioned. Any replacement for AK will most likely cut from a similar cloth i.e someone well versed in technical continental football and used to working with a DOF. |
