So no great surprise today versus Preston.

Robinson moves into the centre alongside Hefele and Osborn comes in at left back.

RE: Our Defensive Options - Jasper Scarrott - 09-12-2018

I think it's fair to say that we need a bit more strength in depth at the back.

Another centre back and another left back. Quality additions.

I don’t think Robinson did too badly at centre half yesterday personally and it was one of Hefele’s better games.

It was our failure to score that really cost us yesterday.

Carvalho couldn’t beat the first man with his corners or free kicks.

RE: Our Defensive Options - zicorice - 09-12-2018

This^ Carvalho is class normally, front players didnt quite get it right. That said if we keep a clean sheet we dont lose and Preston offered almost nothing yet scored from a corner that should have been dealt with. Fair play to Preston, through a combination of sticking doggedly to a game plan and a bit of ineptitude from ourselves, they have taken 3 points home. If Daws was fit might we have kept a clean sheet? I actually think so.

A point yesterday still wouldn’t have been acceptable.

They were always going to defend if they got their noses in front. They had only lost one game since 1 September and we needed to be the Team to score first.

Forest seem somewhat imbalanced when Robinson doesn't play at LB. Massive miss with Dawson.

And the RW. Not sure we have the final solution there either.

Forest seem several players short of a definite top two material.

Keeper. If you can't claim balls or can't distribute balls? (Really highlighted without Dawson to head the ball away and without Robinson at LB to give that balance?)

Not happy at yesterday's result. Against a very poor Preston team.

Really missed Robbo at left back, let's hope we have a defender back for Derby.

RE: Our Defensive Options - the jock - 09-12-2018

Needed more cutting edge yesterday. Not enough support for grabban. They are organised well getting many as back as possible to defend. Cash and Osborn on the same side won't frighten too many teams.

Even sky criticising worrall now

I think it imbalances the side, 'Nicky Shorey' style when Robinson isn't there.  It highlights Forest don't have depth there.  An areas of improvement for January, perhaps?

LB and another winger are positions that need looking at.

As for support for Grabban.  I think the above two positions are part of the problem.

But I think the ACM blows a bit hold and cold.

For once in the last ten years or twenty...(!), I think the DCM is well stocked with a rich array of talent.

But the CH position shows how Dawson is missed (and that he's 35 and creaking on a 3 day a week game schedule.)

That's four positions.

Then the keeper won't claim the ball.  Or distribute it well.  '5' positions.

...and I think a direct 'Collymore' style power and pace striker would be useful to push Grabban.  (But yes, he needs support.)

But if the defence is imbalanced with a keeper whose confidence is 'shot' then that might explain things v Preston.

Forest seem good on the counter.  But what about unpicking a team that have something to hang on to?

Fingers crossed Fox or Dawson will be fit for Monday night.

I will stick my neck out and say Fox is the most likely but I am only guessing.
