Under Mark Warburton we became reliant on Frank McParland, who is a good DoF, but who wanted more autonomy than the club (& probably the modern game) was willing to grant & when there was unwillingness to even cast an eye over club recommendations it lead to a fall out between Frank McParland & Ioannis Vrentzos that lead to McParland leaving, making Warburton's position untenable, & leading to him leaving the club also.

Karanka swung the other way, saying yes to everyone & everything & still demanding more in an uncontrolled, scattergun spending spree that would have lead to disaster under the last regime & lead to us being unbalanced this season & as we've seen of late effectively hamstringing us at the first sign of a problem.

What we need, at present, is a strong, experienced manager, one who is proven & who can help implement a transfer strategy that not only suits there personal needs but that can work effectively with the club to build the relevant recruitment structure.

We don't need a manager that will ignore the club, or it's suggestions, nor one that will just greedily say yes to everything, instead we need a manager who can stand on his own two feet, & recruit by himself, but who is also willing to work with the club, reviewing & critiquing their suggestions & advising the club on how to refine their strategy & improve the quality of target they are looking at.

I thought Akpom looked awful for us, worse than Velios, Veldwijk, Ward or Bentner.
