It's emotionally painful to lose to them.
Week in, week out, game in, game out, the default position is that we win and they lose. Everything else is what it is.

Taking the two games in series, I can see both us and the sheep being perfectly content with a draw on Friday. Both sides seem to have found some form and won't want to throw that away. Both will now be confident that the threat of relegation has gone and a draw allows both clubs to maintain their recent form and walk away with dignity. I expect we'll dig in, stay tight and see if we can snatch a goal, similar to the recent approach v Bournemouth. So, on that basis I can see CH really trying to push for a win tonight and it wouldn't suprise me if we did it.

The team selection will be interesting tonight.
Does he mix it around to keep some freshness for Friday? He could maybe bring Ameobi back in if he's ready, or more likely Lolley. I'd expect Murray and Taylor to share a game again. The question I've been pondering on is can Krov and Garner continue to perform at the level they are? Will CH rest on or the other tonight with Friday's game in mind? He has options now with Colback and Yates ready to play.

I think its fair to say that CH will be looking at one game at a time and making adjustments where needed rather than making changes to keep players ready for Derby. Without all of the razzamatazz and fan rivalry going on, it will more or less just be another game for him, IMO, albeit one that is a day closer than a 'normal' match.

Ameobi and Sow back in training. Good news. I'd expect the Garner Cafu duo to continue to start. (Yates may come on from the bench again.) Freeman inching towards fitness (there is a quality Championship player in there.)
Suddenly? Options. Lots of options. As you were with the subs bench looking real juicy. The same team that put Swansea to the sword.
Hughton says he changes things based on rotation (tired legs), opposition type, fitness/injuries.
As for D*rby. That's going to be interesting selection wise. Grabban may be back by then. And you'll probably have Colback, Sow and Yates to choose from (do they all go on the bench?). I suspect Sow may be given more time to work on his fitness. And maybe Ameobi will be back on the subs bench too. At the start of the season, I would have had Colback and Sow as my DCM generals. But given the performances of Yates, Garner and Cafu. I'm glad it's Hughon's choice.
We didn't need any more CMs. But then Hughton brought in a genuine ball playing DCM in Garner. And reverted Cafu to a 'double' pivot with him. With a genuine no.10 in Krov' ahead of them. So all the 'DCMS' we brought in over the Summer have to step up to get a place. At this stage of the season as squads become stretched, it's a nice headache to have.

I disagree Tricks. They say one game at a time but you're not telling me that with this string of games we're now in - Saturday, Tuesday, Friday, Tuesday, Saturday, CH isn't thinking ahead of just the next game? He might want the players to do that but imo he will be planning ahead. That's probably why Mighten was started on Saturday and Lolley sat it out. Also why Grabban was not risked at all and probably wont be tonight either.

There usually aren't many changes. A 2-3 at most. (Fullback, wing and striker being the most recent ones I recall. Grabban through injury. Ameobi through injury. Rib'? He must prefer him to how he wants Forest to play.)
I think that's what I like about Hughton's Forest. The focus on one game at a time. And? Respecting the opposition for that game.
