If Newcastle lost to Chelsea, they then have Arsenal away, which they could definitely lose.
They could still be on 63 with 1 game left.
If we then picked up 6 points from Leicester and West Ham, they then couldn’t catch us

I can see them getting something at Arsenal.

I think that's the way I'm leaning! Wanting Chelsea to beat Newcastle.

I agree with Michael.

As long as that 2 point gap remains between us and Chelsea then we have a great chance going into the final game of the season at home.

Be lovely if both sides just needed a draw from that last game. I'm not sure my ticker can take the stress. I'm not a young man any more!

Yes, a good hiding hopefully.

Absolutely insane how close this end to the season is and I know I may be in a minority here but I'm just incredibly excited that we're part of it. Even if we miss out on top five give me this any day of the week vs. a relegation scrap or a dull 13th - 16th place finish.

Last season we were sweating on beating Sheffield United away to have a chance of staying up. This year it's Leicester at home to have a chance of a Champions League place. I know which I prefer!

:Funny:

Imagine if Levi Colwill scored an own goal which sent us into the Champions League at Chelsea's expense.

That would be incredible

Last night’s point could be crucial. Onwards and upwards. Really hope there is a strong and positive atmosphere at the City Ground for Leicester. We need positivity not tense / impatient vibes.

Incidentally, is it just me that isn’t keen on the whole Amarillo type chant. We seem to be stuck on that, and it seems more of a party tune we’d sing after scoring and cruising to a win.

Villa unhappy because their match vs. Spurs now brought forward to Friday 16h to help Spurs out in their Europa League semi-final.

Hopefully that unhappiness extends to their players.

Can't disagree. I think the issue is that rather than charging into contention we are hanging on desperately. It is all about momentum- all clubs in contention have had off periods - Newcastle were slow starters, city had a dreadful second third, as did Chelsea. Villa have been a bit off on all season. Unfortunately we seem to be eating our downturn at the end.

If we had the exact same point total and position but had won the last 4 or 5, the narrative would be totally different.

In my opinion though, securing any form of European football would be a huge achievement and that is now almost within reach (won't count my chickens until confirmed though - not after the end of that 2019/20 season)

It's actually to help them out for the final, which is the midweek after that gameweek.

That's actually massive, Spurs might play a proper team for that game now to warm up for the final (if they get there).

Be funny if they now lost on Thursday!
