RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Salvatore Matrecano - 15-09-2020 People need to be careful what they wish for IMO. Throw out a manager people were almost unanimous in being delighted that he had signed a new contract not long ago. We wont get Cook, it will be someone well known to EM, probably Marco Silva. If we want to build and have a manger here for the long term then were going to have to be prepared to ride out a few periods where things aren't so good. RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Sausage Roll - 15-09-2020 And anyone thinking we'd get Eddie Howe is in cloud cuckoo land, bearing in mind what he was reportedly earning at Bournemouth. RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Madforit - 15-09-2020 Cook and Hughton would both do a great job here, either of them would be my personal choice as a replacement for Lamouchi should he be shown the door, the club need a manager who knows this league and has the know how to get us out of it, and both are out of a job at present RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Paplane - 15-09-2020 (15-09-2020, 08:51 AM)Madforit Wrote: Cook and Hughton would both do a great job here, either of them would be my personal choice as a replacement for Lamouchi should he be shown the door, the club need a manager who knows this league and has the know how to get us out of it, and both are out of a job at present It'll be someone we've never heard of, from a foreign league, who's currently out of a job. This new guy will have either no or little time to assess the squad before the end of the window, nor look at a few games in the Championship to assess what's needed. Same old. Same old. If they sack Sabri and go down this route, at this point of the season, then I might just turn my back on the whole club and come back in the unlikely event that they get promoted at some point in the next few years. It'll save me a whole load of time and emotional energy. RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Widdow - 15-09-2020 If Sabri is on thin ice then they should not hang around, its needs sorting now rather than later. Firstly it doesn’t look like they are trying to rectify mistakes from last season., secondly this was the second competitive game which they have lost, not scored and let in goals. Of course, may win next game, but know how inconsistent we are, every time he loses a game, all hell will break lose. He lets team sit back and invite pressure, no energy, no thrust, and when it goes wrong, no plan B. I just do not think the players have the confidence and we keeping hearing Sabri great man management but it doesn’t look that the players are giving their all on the pitch or even have belief. The new backroom staff haven’t actually given them a lift Other managers have been sacked with superior records than Sabris in their last 21 Games – its relegation form Last 21 for all: Karanka: 8 Wins 8 Draws 5 Losses 32 Points Warburton: 7 Wins 1 Draw 13 Losses 22 Points Montanier: 7 Wins 3 Draws 11 Losses 24 Points Freedman: 8 Wins 7 Draws 6 Losses 31 Points Lamouchi: 5 Wins. 8 Draws. 8 Losses 23 Points. Keep hearing IF Grabban scored, we can talk all day about ifs, the clear fact he didn’t, he didn’t even hit the target, and not sure why was made captain, a strange decision, when his focus should be on leading the line and finding his scoring boots (only 4 goals in last 19 competitive games) rather than leading the team. It seems the writing on the wall has been written, and why drag it out. He has been backed in the transfer market, but you couldn’t say any serious money has been spent thus far (not knowing how much Soh cost) but getting £16m and £500k for Cash, and wages saved on Pantimillion and Watson is good business, and surely not all that has gone to the FFP Blackhole. (Since owners come in we have received around £60m in transfer fees, and spent nowhere near that much). So backed in market, yet where was Bachirou, surely he was fitter than Colback, who looked way off the pace. Shame we got knocked out the League cup so early, as another game in the competition would give players like those, and Freeman, Taylor, Soh Guerrero up to speed. And don’t think backing him means selling one of his favourite players and Player of the year does it? But lets not keep everyone hanging on, as if some miracle he will change his whole philosophy, he certainly hasn’t the last two games, in fact can argue look worse. No creativity and no goals and still letting in goals (another injury time goal conceded). Players look unfit and under prepared, apparently we played different formations in Pre-season, wow 3 “on the park” friendly games to give us a plan B or C. Not enough time and no wonder went back to what he knows. Its an ideal time to replace him, if the owners are looking to bring in someone new, the transfer window open for another 4 weeks and give them enough time to get up to speed, work out the squad and get the players match fit. Bring in a few the new manager may want, and get rid of the old deadwoodand also the new deadwood like Adomah and Carvalho ! RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - ThePromisedLand - 15-09-2020 I wonder if he now regrets leaving the player return for pre season as late as possible? RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Superreddamo - 15-09-2020 Shouldn't be so reliant upon Grabban scoring all the goals! RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - Salvatore Matrecano - 15-09-2020 And if you do that we will end up with a manager with no experience of the squad and almost certainly no experience of Championship football. They will also want to bring in their own staff and players and we will end up with a whole load of new dead wood / bomb squad the new guy doesnt fancy to add to what you’ve mentioned, players like DaCosta, Bachirou, probably Sow and a few others too. Add that to the fees to pay of Lamouchi and his staff and yet again you have another big FFP hit. Changing the system now means we are unlikely to get promotion this year, we have to cut costs to pay for all the above and this time next year the apologists will be saying well yes we have to be a selling club to balance the costs so Johnson and Mighten have to go. Rinse and repeat. RE: Sabri Will He Stay Be Sacked Or Quit - ThePromisedLand - 15-09-2020 (15-09-2020, 10:54 AM)Superreddamo Wrote: Shouldn't be so reliant upon Grabban scoring all the goals! Saturday we need a reaction and the players to stand up... Couldn't agree more! I thought we'd see a reaction after the draw with the sheep. And then after Barnsley in the cup. But nothing yet. This Sat is going to be huge, maybe even more so for the performance than the result. |
