Give me Carvalho any day over someone who runs around a lot and apparently gets stuck in, but brings very little.
Don't agree. I think Lolley is much more talented, brings more to the team and is more of a matchwinner than Carvalho will ever be.
Being talented is not everything, you need to have more to your game than that.
A good example is Lewis McGugan, he was talented but so much more was lacking in his game.

U23 match, we stuck out a very strong side, almost our fit & available "B" team, with Wague, Pele & a front 5 of Appiah, Johnson, Carvalho, Goncalves & Ansarifard up front.
We all know which department we've been struggling in lately & half people's alternative suggestion to fix our problems are listed in that 5 so it was basically an audition tonight, a genuine opportunity for a player to stake a place for Saturday & Carvalho, (& Goncalves & Ansarifard) in particular failed the audition, showing both a lack of effort & quality.
The management was not impressed.
Some of these players have 11 games, some of them they will not play in, & some where they will be restricted to cameos, within which to convince the management that they are worth persevering with.
Each failed audition is a step closer to the exit & I'd suggest they will go flying out of it with Roy Keane's boot print on their arses if they ever drop below 100% effort levels again.
Oh dear. 'The management' (Kray twins?) How can they not 'step it up' with the management watching on?
I can't see MoN/Keane putting up with a lack of effort or commitment.
That just won't do.

Not writing him off just yet, but if someone offered 13m for him tomorrow I'd snap their hands off.
MON gets the best from lesser players, and we could nab a 3-4m player who suits MON's style better, and ultimately contributes more than Carva too.
It'd be a bit of a short term thing to do and sacrificing a player who could ultimately be a quality Prem level player, but as we're run by short term owners we may have to cut our cloth accordingly.
Shame coz he's great to watch on his day, but we are where we are.

Karanka bought the 3 Portuguese and soudani to improve our offence . not one of them are in our starting 11 unfortunately nor is grabban at the moment.

The biggest spending spree in the clubs history & not one of them in the team.
If Karanka hadn't left you'd have to consider sacking him for that alone.
Does make you wonder if that was part of it.
Also, Carv was dropped immediately after AK left. Was he playing him because he had to play him to save his job?
