Two things............

1. Weren't planning rules relaxed a couple of years ago, with right to light being more lenient towards the developer?

2. Lets hope former Father of the House and MP for Rushcliffe, Ken Clarke, who is a Forest fan, still has a lot of influence over his former Tory sidekicks

When this project is finished wouldn't it be better if the new Main Stand was renamed The Brian Clough Stand and The Brian Clough Stand as it is now becomes The Peter Taylor Stand?

Yep

I think that would be wrong, why not call it the Clough & Taylor Stand. Then we have a spare for any future hero!

Call it the Marinakis stand?!!?

As long as it's not "bet365", "DG Cars", "boots", etc I'll be happy.

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Paplane - 13-01-2020

True Joe. What would be wrong is to leave the name as it is now (Peter Taylor Stand).

It needs to change to The Brian Clough Stand or The Clough And Taylor Stand.

Sounds good to me that does.

RE: The 2 Infrastructure Projects - Paplane - 21-01-2020

I'm keeping my eye on the comments coming in re the planning application. They are posted on the Ruschcliffe BC planning website. There's some more of concern appeared on there now.

1) The Nottingham City Council Highways Dept are trashing the travel assessment. Among a load of technical arguments about traffic movement and parking, they say there's not enough car parking being provided and they don't like the road layout proposed. They also suggest that money off forest be sought to upgrade lady bay bridge for pedestrians.

2) The rowing clubs are objecting saying that the club have pulled out of a memorandum of understanding previously reached. As such they have recently drawn up their own development plans for improvement to the rowing facilities and say the nffc development will restrict them from implementing these. They dont like the flats near their boat clubs and say this will restrict them using the venues for gigs and wedding receptions etc.

3) Rushcliffe Borough Council Community Development Dept are saying The rowing clubs are listed as an 'Asset of Community Value' in a similar way as to which the city ground itself is. If this is to be disposed with then there's an notification process to be gone through and they have not been notified.

4) There are a couple of objections from individuals who use the boat club facilities.

They're really getting down to the issues now with the application.
