I don’t want to watch a team of kids. If that’s what I wanted to see I’d go and watch the academy games rather than buying a season ticket.

All logic says you are correct Sabri but the reason people are wanting to see a team of kids is frustration with the current team. The turnover of the squad and lack of success means we just arent identifying with our players, we are watching what we perceive as a bunch of overpaid strangers who are under performing. It probably isnt helping that we arent seeing them in the flesh and I think some perceive a lack of effort although I think again thats frustration rather than fact.
Therefore the natural reaction is lets play our kids instead, brought up with the club, buy into our identity and we think they will try harder even though the truth is the teams listed above would probably get battered. It doesnt make sense when you look at it with a calm head but at 5pm on Saturday I genuinely thought the same.

No they didn’t because that’s a myth.Peter Schmeichel, Roy Keane, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce and Eric Cantona were all experienced and hugely talented players and made up the spine of that team.
Also, you’re comparing a special crop of world class youngsters like Beckham and Scholes produced by one of the best academies in the world, at one of the biggest football clubs in the world, with a category 2 academy at a second division football club. Our academy punches above it’s weight, but the idea that flooding the first team with academy players would achieve anything other than relegation is fanciful.

It doesn’t appeal to me. I understand a retreat into a fantasy rather than having to deal with watching a poor performance, against a better team, but people have short memories. We’d only lost 1 in 8 in the league before Saturday. Throwing in more inexperienced kids is a good way of ensuring we go down rather than continuing to slowly climb away and up the table.

I haven't watched all of that podcast, but what bit I did watch, they are saying exactly the same things as many are saying on this forum.
It can't be a coincidence that fans opinions from right across the spectrum are all pretty much in synch with regards what is wrong with the club/players, yet it seems (from the outside at least) the club are oblivious to them. Unless of course those fans are all posters on COYR forum :shy:
It will be interesting to see what response the club takes in this last week of the transfer window. Will they stick with pretty much what they have got or will they look at getting in players to cover those positions that we are struggling in week after week.
If the club decide to stick, then I fear we will end up in League 1 next season

I agree with all of that mate and have said we will stay up if we keep on as we are although it may not be too pretty at times. The problem is NFFC are very hard to like right now which I think is enhanced by not being there to see it. Most of us would accept winning ugly and getting results which is what CH is starting to do, Millwall apart those 8 games have been a tough watch though. Some would also accept a younger team playing attacking battling football even if the results werent coming but I agree with you if we did that now we would end up in L1. What we wont accept is an expensive team of misfits that is underperforming and not getting results hence the anger on here at times.

Sorry but you make no valid points, how about the energetic midfielders that are tracking back where are tgey in our current side ? Christie don’t get me started, if Gabriel , johno and Mcguane were not allready our players we would probably be scouting them what makes you think we would get battered every week ?
