Get him match fit and see if he can help us out last 5 or 6 games

I will be very surprised if we see him involved with the first team this season. Also I am not sure what the rules are. He was signed outside of the window.

So that is Galliani, Larsson and now McGuane all highly rated and all signed up for our under 23's.

I wonder if our recruitment team will get any credit for that.

Our end of the paperwork might have been done before the window closed? Not sure how it works.

I am not sure either.

Also the lad needs to get up to speed. I assume that he hasn't played any football for a couple of months but again not really sure.

Am sure I read that the paperwork was all completed well before the deadline and all that was required was International clearance that could take weeks and has. If that is correct, it means he was signed up in time and should be eligible but not sure about fitness as there has been no news as to where he has actually been.

Just watch some new footage of Marcus from Telstar and I have to say that he looks good. Busy and strong with good technique and burst of pace. Maybe there is a possibility that he could play a part this season.

RE: Nottingham Forest Academy And Under 23's Thread - Alf Garnett - 27-02-2020

I will admit to not knowing much about young Marcus but the fact that he has been at both Arsenal and Barcelona gives me hope that he could turn out to be a very astute signing.

I'm hoping the same Alf but the negative side of me says that previous potential & previous clubs played for often have no relevence to how good a player is. I give you Bostock, Roger Riera, Bendtner as examples.

He's 21 so only a year younger than Yates so no reason for him not to play if he's good enough. I just wonder if by saying he's in the under 23's, they're trying to look after him, get him reaclimatised, property settled after etc before they expose him to the pressures of the first team. It sounds like hes lost his way a bit recently.

Like your ‘glass half full’ attitude Pap - but think he’s one for the future ( hopefully as soon as next season ).

Yep, wouldn't it be nice if we could uncover a real gem, like we did with Roy Keane.

Closest to that is Yates.  And he's show glimmers of being 'that' player.  Yates is still young with more to come.

It's rare these days to just 'unearth' a player of that 'Keane' standard.  But Forest used to do it all the time under Clough (and Taylor back when.)

Marcus.  Be a while before we see him in the 1st team, I would have thought.

But with the recent trio of acquisitions nobody should doubt the forward looking and progressive stance of the recruitment staff at Forest.

If anyone needs any further evidence.  Look at these signings.  If all three of them 'click' then we could be looking at some 'real' players that could probably play in the Premiership with us.

It's building for the future whether they work out or not.  I applaud this excellent work, again, from the Academy to u23 level.

We used to moan about that bridge from teh Academy to the 1st team.

No longer.

SA.

Transfermarket shows his signing date as 26th Feb, so should be clear to play.

Confused

The transfer window closed at the end of January. Am I missing something?
