Yep. Tbh wasn’t keen on him when links first materialised mainly because of how Spurs were last season and felt it would be a risk. He’s here though and so we all, including the prima donnas in our changing room, need to give him a chance and get behind him. There were some positive signs last night and had we taken our chances/had the third not been ruled out for offside (which looked close) then we would have killed them off. As it was, when they got back to 2-1 it gave them a sniff and momentum, at home, to go at us. That said with the players we had on the pitch and their experience we still shouldn’t have capitulated in the way we did. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Liars Bar - 18-09-2025 I’m not panicking, and must win games in September sounds ridiculous……but these Burnley and Sunderland games are MASSIVE now. Loose both of them and Ange will be in McLeish territory. If Sels, Williams, or Murillo get injured for any amount of time it’s going to be a loooong season. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - pennhillred - 18-09-2025 I really, really hope Ange gets the wins we need and he's a great success. We have a happy, exciting season and have a great run in Europe. But when the time comes (and I can't see it being any time before the summer at the earliest), I really hope we look for who's the best man for the job, and not just who's out of work and up for it? I don't know how these things work with getting managers out of contracts with their existing clubs, but however much it would cost to get Iriola away from Bournemouth, it would be worth it. Although I'd fear he'll be out of our grasp by the next time we need someone. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Username - 18-09-2025 This is nearly as bad as reading Twitter RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Woan - 18-09-2025 At times last night we looked like 11 strangers which is understandable considering this group had no preseason together. I think this is at least one reason Nuno threw a fit. He was mad that he wouldn't be able to use preseason to bed in new players because (in his mind) Edu was moving like a glacier in the transfer market. TBF to Edu, the market itself was very slow starting because of the Club World Cup. If you're going to sign 13 new players, they need time together but Nuno, while I understand his frustration, acted like an infant and the West Ham game was the result. Of course, I could be full of sh__ and it could have just been 2 strong personalities who had irreconcilable differences. The thread is for when we are looking for a manager. So let's try to keep posts in the right threads. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Cornish forest - 27-09-2025 Feel like this thread needs updating…. Who is decent and out of work? Can’t think of anyone personally. No one decent in the Prem is going to drop down to us. RE: Next Manager The Runners & Riders - Jimmygordon - 27-09-2025 Ang He is not the man for the job. Gone by Christmas. |
